well ive never read the books but i know that not every movie can get the 400 million dollar blank check budget like the LOTR Trilogy.

I read the first two books.
And I can safely say Eragon is a typo of Dragon.

eragon is the man character's name or something, but not the type of dragon. and the movie was bad cuz of the plot, acting, and just plain not living up to the book's standard's, not because of a smaller budget than lotr. everyone i know says the books are much better than the movie, and i assume they mean how it's portreyed because books dont have cg XD

I'm aware that Eragon is the main character's name, I was joking. The D and E are right next to each other on the keyboard. And yeah, the books were better than the movie.

I thought there were a few that weren't really played up enough in the stories. And I know that in Brisingr, the newest book, there's a scene where Eragon has to clean wool out of Saphira's teeth that really got me thinking, but to my knowledge no stories exist as of yet. If I find any time to write, though, I may fix that.

Psh. The only reason Eragon got published is because the author's daddy owns the publishing company.

I'm surprised he hasn't gotten a cease and desist from Lucas yet. It's Star Wars with dragons.

Yeah, and the entire story is full of cliches...DWARVES THAT LIVE UNDERGROUND AND MINE STUFF. ELVES THAT LIVE IN THE FOREST. Oh and the Lethrblaka with their pain screech thingy like the drake things the Ringwraiths ride in LotR.

That being said, I thought they were still an amusing read <_< They also make me feel really creative and original, whee.

i must agree. the writing is nearly dreadful. the man can not write. the actions is good however, and i have rabidly read all three.

Murtaugh is freaking hot! He could feed me to Thorn any day.

Or how about Saphira eating Eragon so he can sing himself into her like that one elf sang herself into the tree, then they can be one with each other.

He hasn't gotten an order because Lucas got the basic idea for Star Wars from Campbell's "Hero's Journey" - both Paolini and Lucas followed the Journey's steps in creation of their stories, resulting in a large similarity.

Pff. The "ancient language" is Icelandic.

Lethrblaka? Bat.
Steinr Risa? Stone, Rise.

Ripoff!

Hahaha. And here I thought he at least had the wherewithal to make up a language. That's great.
