Tag duplication

Postby Mobius_Evalon » Mon Nov 24, 2014 9:12 pm

So after only a bit of poking around in the tagging areas, it has become apparent that there are a lot of tags that are literally the same as other tags. In just this example alone that lists 26 related terms, there exist only 14 unique terms:

A bunch of duplicate tags.

...and some of these could actually be obsoleted by context, e.g. a submission with the tags "vore" and "big belly" make the term "vore belly" obsolete.

Considering in this case there are hundreds or possibly thousands of files with tags duplicated from ones that already exist, this is easier handled with a hard database query to straighten it out. Measures should be taken to reduce this in the future as well, such as increasing the threshold to add new tags or even a quick pattern search on existing tags to root out a possible duplicate. This tiny little microcosm is evidence that those clicking the accept button on a new tag are far too eager to do so without research.
Potatoes are friggin' magical. Can you power an alarm clock with a carrot? No, sir!

Also, have a vore code.

We already manually fix them regularly, just send me a list whenever you discover any. We already have feature planned on improving those when we finish our current projects.
