Most people I've met seemed to love the live-action shots, but to me it felt jarringly out of place, like something more at home in SpongeBob, and on top of that it served to emphasize how easily Pinkie can fall to two-dimensional comic relief status in the hands of a less capable writer. Or even in the hands of a capable one.
Yeah, Pinkie pride was going to be more then a bit... off base, especially considering the celebrity they got to do Cheese Sandwich. With him around things were bound to get a little... weird.
