EDIT: Uh, None of the SMW roms I can find will work with the patch. Did you use a USA rom, PAL, or Japanese?

I have a confirmed that I have a rom that patches normally with two other hacks, but not yours. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this! Yoshi is the whole reason I got into vore, and SMW was a factor. Which sounds odd now that I type it.

Well, in any case, I hope it's not a PAL rom, cause those are impossible to find for some reason.

I checked with an EU / PAL and an NTSC / USA rom. Neither work when patched

Patched failed within using Lunar IPS and turns the clean ROM into a corrupted one. Don't know exactly why this is the case though since I don't know which editor to use to check it myself. :/

Yeah. Looks like it's a faulty patch. Might just be corrupt from LIPS being cruddy. Neither Lunar Magic or ZSNES can open a patched ROM.

I have the same issue, I have a USA clean rom ("Super Mario World (U) [!].smc", the [!] stands for a clean ROM) that I use to test ips patches, Lunar Magic can patch it, but it doesn't load on any emulator

OP, are you sure you patched this against a clean ROM? I've tried patching this against both a headered and a headerless clean SMW rom (the headered one verified by smwcentral's online rom checker, the unheadered one made by stripping the header off the first with dd) and neither runs with the latest versions of SNES9x and Higan/BSNES. Please tell me this isn't a ZSNES-only ROM.

You say it's easy, tell me what I need, but not what to do.

It's like handing me a bunch of engine parts, and telling me to drive it.

What goes where? Do they all have to be in the same file? What do I launch to use it all? Do I have to launch Zsnes, Lips, and Rachel the Yoshi Girl? In what order?

I've tried launching from Rachel, and all it does is tell me the file was successfully patched.

What are the steps involved in making it run?

Romhustler is where it's at, so I've heard. Also, how are you using (not) using Emuparadise? It gives people a .SFC instead of .SMC supposedly.

I am so stupid. The rom I created an IPS patch from was not clean. It was modified at some point. New link in the main post. I downloaded, patched, and tested it. Sorry everyone.

I'm still getting a bad rom error when I try and run it. I know you don't want to give out a clean rom, but what about giving out a patched rom?
(not trying to sound needy but allmost the entire thread is people who can't get this to work.)

I got it to work, you need to use a rom with a header, it'll still say badchecksum but it'll load. I played through both levels and it was okay, SMW has always been one of my favorite games. I found the secret one up in the first level .
