Interesting situation. Terry looks as though he's trying to make himself believe he's doing the right things, but it's difficult to see him as a "good guy". He grumbled, but he waited half an hour before making any attempt to save the little girl. Then he actually told Kim to kill Jill - who most emphatically did not deserve it. He tried to soothe his conscience by telling the girl not to look, but he actually added to her trauma by making her at least partially a witness to murder. I see her questions ("Are you going to save the other girl?" / "Did you save the other girl?") as the repeated twinges of his own very guilty conscience. Giving her the money I see as a poor attempt at buying himself that conscience. He's not the good person the little girl imagines him to be.

The mode of dialogues worked well for this - better than a descriptive narrative (explicitly revealing his thoughts and feelings) would have done.

Haha! xD Moose is...special. She is unlike an ordinary corgi, as she had over the years conditioned her belly to stretch and adjust to huge meals like poor Ranger. Her metabolism is also quite fast, which is why she doesn't retain too much fat! :P
