Alright, that's it. I'm fucking pissed off at everyone.
I'm now working on xcore / mingl / xgfx, a set of core components that'll (finally) be smartly designed enough to both be flexible, easy to use, and as powerful as modern hardware lets me be. They operate very well using hardware graphics acceleration to the fullest, and all sorts of goodies in modern computers that let a interactive highly animated program sing. Like a game. Follow my real blog for more info as it progresses.
Of interest to anyone following what I've been doing, here are the abandoned projects that won't get finished unless someone wants to help me out:
[list]
NPlatformer - A 2D platformer with vore, gunz, fighting, and the easiest level/scenario editor ever! Works pretty damn well. Person helping me with it disappeared, so I stopped wasting my time with it. This project is identical to VFlashGame
VFlashGame - Identical to NPlatformer; a beta version if you will.
Blender Game Engine - I was making a synthesis for the BGE that let me spawn, shoot, and do armature parenting (all of that works by the way) but nobody seems to care about working with 3D, so until someone pokes me about it, it'll just sit there
Game Maker Engine - Long long time abo (2005 ish) someone asked me for help making a game maker game. I helped, they dever did anything. So VGame.exe just sits there, rotting away.
AdventureClone - I put a lot of work making a accurate 3D replica of the Atari 2600 game 'Adventure', and made a full 3D version with a nice interactive 3D vore animation you could be a victim to in first or third person, complete with sounds, struggling and other bonuses. A few lucky people got to see it in action before blender change some specs (2.46->2.47) that broke the game forever. If anyone wants to revive this, please let me know, as I really wanted this stupid game to work. Really!
VAdventure / Yobro! - A 3D blender game where you could run around as a lizard monster and fight, shoot, and eat your way to victory; or be eaten; depending. Didn't get too far for the same reason Adventure Clone didn't.
Flash Junk - I only uploaded some of the flash junk I've made over the years to this site; There are still many more pieces and I haven't sorted them out. I still need help on this. There are also many games I had that had vore hidden in them; older versions of higher games that actually had prototypes of vore and whatnot in them.
MMOVRPG - This was classic. A random person IM's me, and says they want to make a MMO. So, I waste money to buy the engine, work with it a bit, find out they did 0 research, and it would be hell to import models (I made it work though, partially) and that we could not collaborate on a project since it would not let files be used non-locally (IE, if I made a level, no one else could ever load it, EVEN IF THEY HAD THE EXACT SAME FILES). So, thanks to a slew of shitty tools, and nothing but bullshit problems, it got abandoned. And good riddance! Nobody wants a shit wow clone, even if it has vore animations.
VFighter - This project will be much larger than I thought; and it is still in progress. It will be quite amazing. And no, it is nothing like that shitty flash version you all probably saw.
[/list:u]
And numerous other projects I have forgot about or attracted 0 interest. People, you *have* to PM me to get my attention. I don't respond to anything else.
Seems that 'correspondence' is a big problem. I can understand that, but the lack of collaboration makes me wonder what the root cause is. Possibly, it is just a side effect of the uncommunicative nature of a given project; Some moron comes up with 'hey, let's make a game about vore' but does no work in thinking about the game; Some sucker believes them and they both waste time accomplishing nothing. This seems to be directly related to the key problem of making fetish-oriented content; People get all up about some idea, then forget how much work some things really take then abandon the project. There are MOUNDS of this stuff on japanese ryona sites out there, some of which has vore, so the problem isn't related to any one fetish; It's a global issue.
Another note is lack of experience and motivation. Everyone has ideas; They're worthless. Dime a dozen. You have to have some technical skill to be able to put your ideas into a form that works; Ergo artists making good drawings & coloring them, or flash artists making animations, or 3D artists making characters and rigs; Even musicians making music! The point is, if your idea (writing is useless too) is not
logically clear and communicable, you're worthless. Thankfully, this is an easy area to fix, but it seems 100% of the people I've ever talked to refuse to learn new things, and are therefore, useless.
About the only project's I've seen even succeed are individuals working to do something they want to do, with little or no outside assistance; probably because they are willing to put in the work required in to make something, regardless of it's quality. You know who you are, and kudos for making stuff! It's rare that people attempt to do such things, and we all really appreciate your efforts; Shame we can't link paypal donate buttons in our profiles for donating to your cause (there's a hint, admins)
So. now that my rant is complete;
If you wish to ask me questions (Being a expert in engineering, I can give you advice you probably can't get without paying 250 USD$ an hour for consulting) please do, but
do so over PM. The forums are too full of crap to be easy to check.
And for fucks sakes, keep working with blender, dammit! I'll need some blender people later (possible commission work)!
Z out.
