Hi everyone.
I really never intended to use the blog, as it's not something I suspect many people pay much attention to. None the less, here it is, and I guess I have some explaining to do...
Since posting up the first page of my debut series 'The Great Escape' I have recieved a huge (litterally huge) reaction from the Vore community here on Ekas. Seriously, i'm blowen away by all the kind, supportive, helpful and humourous comments you've all made, especially since I myself thought so little of the series at first. However, as some of you will already know, shortly after I posted up page 22 of the series, I defaulted on a large overdraft at my bank (roughly £1500). Rather than face court, i've been working huge amounts of overtime the past couple of months, which has killed much of my desire and ability to really sit down and draw. Needless to say this wasn't part of the plan when I first decided to start posting work.
It's still going to be another month or so before i've settled things with my bank. I'll have a go at doing some more drawings for you guys on one of my (now rare) days off, but no promises that it'll put me in a good position to upload. I know you guys have been waiting patiently, and for reward i'll tell you about a couple of my thoughts for things to come.
Project 1: Requestable Anime/Manga themed vore projects:
- It's my intent (i'd initially planned to announce this once TGE was complete) to take requests and build short, simple vore comics/single frames based on existing anime/manga characters. I've noticed a particular demand for this sort of thing, which is hopefully within my power to create. I'm not a brilliant artist like Karbo, Nitro Titan, Kiyoa ect, but I feel i'm at a sort of standard where I can generate moderately decent work, though obviously I may not be able/want to do every request. Hopefully I won't get into copywrite issues over this, since as you might be able to tell, i'm broke. lol.
Project 2: Vorecourt Farm:
- Vorecourt Farm is a project of mine that predates The Great Escape by a mile, and who's original concept for page 1 is what got me my gallery in the first place. In short, VCF is intended to be my masterwork and possibly my swansong. With over 70 pages drafted (and room for plenty more), VCF is a simply giga, book-like project that will come with full story and full inking (and possibly colour if I can muster the courage to commit to it). It will of course feature a lot of F/F vore (as is my style), and of course the lovely catgirl Tabatha who has served as my avatar here on Eka's since the beginning. I haven't really thought about 'when' i'd get around to re-working the drafts I have into their final version, but it has certainly been my goal for a while now... and i'm certain that all TGE fans will love it.
Of course i'd like to do much more on the side. However, i'll also say right now (for those of you who've asked or been wondering) that it's unlikely that i'll ever offer to do commission work, for 2 reasons:
1) I believe that art should be free and enjoyable, not just for the viewer but also for the artist. I don't want the pressure of money driving me to be creative.
2) I really don't feel i'm a good enough artist to be paid, so it'd feel really weird taking money from people.
And there you have it. My long and solo blog that never should have been. If you read it up to here, congratulations, you deserve a muffin or warm beverage of your choice. If not, well... nothing lost, nothing gained. I do apologise for the dely in my uploading, I do feel bad about it, but I really can't be dealing with it right now.
Respectfully ~
SkyLark
