It would probably be a good guess if I assumed you guys have heard about Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. It came to as a thought, that one could quickly slide the scale towards edgy and dark in those comics.

Scrooge: Thanks to a mystical item that is the heart of his fortune, he craves forever more and more of money. He is the epitome of greed and pays people far-below normal wages.

Magica deSpell: For some reason she craves that mystical item Scrooge owns, and there is no method untried when it comes to terms of getting it. Note that Scrooge uses all methods to not lose it.

Donald: Being incredibly lazy, he has earnt a debt that is unpayable by far. And yet, his three nephews are in his custody.

The three nephews I don`t remember the name of: They are in some sort of club that goes by the name of "Woodpeckers", at least the norwegian translation. Anyway, they have a certain book that has the answer to e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. It must be some eldritch lore book, cause it size surely doesn`t match its amount of knowledge.

Gyro Gearloose: If it had not been for the comics cheerfull and colourful look, he would appear to me as one heck of a mad scientist. He has at least 3 different time-machines. Time-machines that gets used by Scrooge in the attempt to make profit by going back in time and screwing up stuff. Everytime they use a time-machine they are destroying the time-space continuum.
Not to mention the space movers, different chemical components that do various stuff, artificial intelligence robots that threatens to take over the world, clone machines, mind-swappers, and all those different methods of moving.

Gladstone Gander: With that sort of luck, surely he must have sold his soul to the devil.

Mickey Mouse: Mickey Mouse worst enemy is a cat named Black Pete, his pet is a dog named Pluto, his best friend is a dog named Goofy. See something wierd here?


And Thanksgiving, all the ducks gather around the table to consume a turkey in the best manner, surely it is close to cannibalism. Or when they eat a pig (a mayor in Duckburg happens to be a pig).

Not to mention that every sentient creature in Duckburg can be found in an animal version at Grandma ducks place.
