The Obligated Watcher 4/13
I could hear him walking behind me. His paws made distinct "thud" noises when he walked in a casual manner. I wasn't going to run, he knew that. If I did run, he would be on me in a few bounds. I stood still and silent and waited for him to approach me. When he got close, which seemed like an eternity, I could feel the heat from his body, smell his scent, and almost feel his fur. He was standing over me now, but I didn't have the courage to look up, so I looked at the ground. I felt him sit down on his haunches as he brought his right forepaw around the front of my abdomen. He pulled me against his warm belly, firm but gently, until I could hear his stomach growling. It was where I was going, I knew it.
