Kicked out of-wouldn't she have been arrested? Put on trial for murder?

Nah. The school recognizes that the plant had a perfect right to digest everyone it could grab. Ann just got kicked out for public indecency and for losing the school a bunch of paying students.

Unless they found a way to bring people back from the dead after digestion until then others would disagree with the school's position and classify it as murder anyways and probably have the plants killed and shut down the school and put the people involved or responsible in trial anyways.

Maybe that could be a deconstruction for consensual vore resulting digestion stories that no writer has yet to explore....since the whole thing sounds like assisted suicide really.

Really what it boils down to here is that I've always been a little turned on and highly amused by the whole concept of casual vore, and that is elected in this story world. To the most of the characters, people getting eaten is just something that happens now and then. As for digestion, supposedly the pleasure involved is well worth the fact that you die, so no one really minds it.

It's weird, and I honestly plan to offer some in-story explanation for it, but I intend to keep that theme going, at least in this story series,

By the way, I appreciate your commenting. You really seem to have put some thought into this

Maybe perhaps in order to make your story world work, I think suicide has to be widely accepted as well.

Unless of course I think you're most likely going to be straight forward that vore is normal in that story world and nobody minds at all and somehow there's a strange 'separation' between suicide and vore, maybe there could be a philosophy that nothing's really above the "food chain" but rather there's a food web that we humans must accept the fact there's bigger predators than can eat us and not only that, eating is part of nature so is death so we must accept it to keep the natural cycle going. I think it would pay parallels to Mesoamerican philosophy that we offer sacrifices which means we accepted death to keep the world going sort of.

I wonder if you have something similar in thought to this.

Yes, actually, I had Melissa say some similar things back in chapter two

been looking forward to this one! I really like the way you blend the story's more outlandish themes with Character growth, letting them readjust their world view with what they're presented with. ^^

As for the plant suggestion, how about a plant that lures prey with fake fruit?
The way it would work is that the plant lies flat on the ground with a stem sticking up out of the ground bearing these super sticky bulbs, if you touch these bulbs or try to take a bite from them you'd get stuck and the rest of the plant rises up to envelop you.

I hope that makes sense.

Since you posted this chapter I've been looking for a suitably interesting plant (since you asked for input and all), and I finally found one: the Drosera, or Sundew plant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drosera). They look, at first glance, like a regular plant covered in water drops; however, those drops are actually digestive/adhesive juices produced by glands at the end of each tendril. These drops catch inattentive bugs and slowly the whole leaf wraps itself around the bug and breaks it down into nutrients. I thought you might be able to make something with this information, I hope it helps!

Thank you! The sundew is an excellent vore plant, and I may very well use it in the future
