The arch-mage Ilya took some dangerous shortcuts to become one of the most powerful wizards on her world. The main one was to seek out and acquire several very powerful magic items (commonly known as artifacts or relics). Like the well known One Ring, these devices often have some side effects, compulsions for example.
In her case she became a nyphomanic, which didn't sit well with her highly conservative cat people clan when they found out. She ended up abdicating clan leadership and going off to do magical research, among other things.
But that didn't fix the nymphomania issue, and that's why she keeps various lovers around. Among them are the giant wolverines Ripper and Redfang who serve as bodyguards and who enthusiastically service her needs whenever they arise, which is often.
Like many of her lovers the wolverines, who were at one point human adventurers before being transformed to their current state, are rather better hung than they once were. There are advantages to being an arch-mage, after all.
Ripper's other lovers, who are most often unwilling, generally don't appreciate his endowment at all, but given what happens to them after (or sometimes even during) sex, they aren't in any condition to complain.

He was probably incited before the fact by Suzy. Mustelids often have quite lengthy matings, hours in the case of some subspecies.
