I can just imagine how crazy it would be smell there, and the son must be super embarrassed by now. I do wonder how often she has considered eating earth by now and making her son a stinky pile of poo along with everyone else.
space is a vacuum, so i doubt anyone on earth would be able to smell it without the atmosphere to carry the scent(unless the fart provided the required atmosphere to bring the stench to us)
Considering an atmosphere is nothing but a mixture of gasses and farts are expulsion of gassious biological waste products... Yeah I think it pretty much does provide the atmosphere. In fact with how much there is it is very likely that it would become a major part of the earth's atmosphere. Death by choking on a fart atmosphere. Feels bad man.

Actually it is. It's the two tiny dots off to the left. That's the earth and the moon. Not directly in the line of fire no, but definitely close enough to get some of the spread.
I wouldn't be worried about the smell, I'd be worried about a planetary sized mound of shit right next to Earth. I think that having the Earth be eaten and digested would probably be a less grim fate than collision with Planet Turd.
