Hopes are up

(claws his way out of the grave)
Hey everyone. We all know my troubles keep me away from doing more pics (overworked/underpaid, trips to hospitals, life problems, etc..) so lets skip that.

Yesterday my mood shot up. After work, a friend tipped me on a program to use for getting my stuff off my old HDD. Gone through so many of these so called programs with 0 luck (and gave up on it a few years back), but thought this time what the hell I'll give it a shot. I have 2 HDD that went bad (2012/2013), one of them had ALL my artwork, .psd files, etc...

To my surprise... this program ACTUALLY worked. Only tested a little bit of it, but need to get another HDD to back everything up to that this program is recovering. The only downside is pretty much EVERYTHING is renamed when it recovers it, so that is a LOT of .psd files to go through ><

What I am hoping for... is the psd file for the Kylie's Nightmare.

This is the one pic that I REALLY wanted to finish but never could without starting from scratch again. Getting that background & all those maggots was a serious pain the first time around. Hit me hard to loose all that work. Now I have a chance at getting that file back ^_^

So wish me luck. By time all the files are recovered to a new HDD.... i got a TON of .psd files to dig through (.....yay.....). Would like to get this file back, and finish this loooooong overdue pic for Halloween this year.

Welcome back, Thunder! :D

Whether or not you get the piece done in time, hope everything goes well for you IRL. Should you ever need to vent and/or have some extra cash to pass around, feel free to drop a line and I'll do whatever I can to help out.

Well that's cool! A lot of the time, trying to recover stuff is ridiculously expensive. Glad you were able to find something that worked!
I have finished projects purely out of spite.

Thanks ^_^
Things are going ok for now IRL. Vented out quite a bit this summer lol. Just the thought that I might get my stuff back off that HDD has put me in one of the best moods I've been in a long time. TOOOONS of files I'm going to have to go through, and it is still going (program been running for 4 hours now lol). Not going to vent or disappear if i don't get the file i'm looking for, but already see much stuff getting recovered so still in a great mood.

I'm just glad I kept these HDD. Even after all the countless failed programs, tricks, etc.. to get stuff off that drive (without paying an arm and 2 legs), something told me to keep those HDDs. Irritating that it renames 90% of the stuff into gibberish names (at least it keeps the file extension), but if it gets my stuff back... its worth digging through a mountain of files lol.

Glad to see it worked and that you're back.
Out of sheer curiousity. What's the name of the program?

TestDisk & PhotoRec 7.1-WIP

There might be better ones out there (as i gave up trying for a few years) but this one is actually working for me. Just... recovering files from a 1tb drive is sloooooooooooow. :(
