Question about Vore Art Auctions

Permanent Linkby Chameleonette on Mon Feb 02, 2015 1:39 pm

So, a few weeks ago, I got a message on tumblr asking me if I was going to do any "vore art auctions". At the time, I didn't know how my tax situation was going to work out and wasn't sure whether or not I would be opening commissions this year. But now that has passed and I WILL be opening up commissions this month, so... I figured I might as well ask:

Would anyone be interested if I were to hold a vore art auction, similar to the ones other uses have done on this site? (IE: Pred slot, prey slot, sketch tier, lineart, flat colors, full color, etc).

I'll consider it if there's some interest. But as you guys know, I don't like to draw female preds and I'm sure that would limit some interest. Perhaps considering it's an auction, I might include them as an option, but only if someone is willing to pay more, because I greatly dislike/do not enjoy them at all.

Anyway, let me know what you think! I thought it might be an interesting way to kick off my commissions this year and I'd love to hear some feedback on the matter.

I'd been keen. Your work is unique :)
Why are all Dwarves Scottish, and for that matter all Pirates have a Scottish Accent as well... and come to think of it most Scottish people have a Scottish accent... Coincidence... I Think Not

Hooray! I'm glad you got your tax situation worked out.

As for auctions, I dunno. I think they're a bit of a passing fad, but certainly one or two couldn't hurt. For some artists, they're super lucrative (I notice people like MementoMori pulling in 2 or 3x for an auction what they used to get for the same image as a commission), but they're also less personal, with the people paying money having less control over the final product: they only get their character of choice in for what's likely a predetermined scenario, and don't have control over who goes into the other slot(s).

Thanks a lot for the input! : ) And yeah, I'm not thinking about doing a lot of them or anything, but since someone mentioned that they would like me to do one, I thought trying one might be an interesting way to swing myself back into taking commissions again. I get what you mean about them being less personal and having a bit of a wild card to them, though.

I may just attempt one and see how it works out. I thought it might be a fun thing to try. I'll see if anyone else has something to say about it.
