Scary, Scary Waters

Permanent Linkby Chameleonette on Wed Apr 02, 2014 6:44 pm

It's really awkward to slowly try to poke your toes into the dangerous waters of trying to find people in your fandom that might enjoy (or at least accept) vore.

I wish I had the guts to come out and say what it was, but I'm still so worried about what they would think of me or whether or not they'd consider me a sick fuck for being into it, much less what I do to our beloved fandom characters within the kink. I wish I had the confidence to not care what they thought, but it's just not that simple for me. I'm still learning to accept this more and more for myself after so many years of repression.

But I'm desperate to find people I can talk to about it and share my stuff with who are as familiar with it and like the series as much as me. I share some of it here, but most people usually have no idea who the characters are (sans for a couple of you - and you know who you are~ I enjoy our little chats in the comments about it). I think it will really spark my motivation to work on that teacher/student AU I had planned like a couple months ago with it, too.

Do you guys have trouble with this, too? I know a lot of fandoms out there actually do have bits and pieces of vore works in them. But let me just say... in mine, my stuff is the only vore material that exists in it.

I say nothing. Trust only those you can fully trust. Most people arent, but if you rationalize it in a way they understand they might be more accepting. I found my love that way. Now shes even into it. When previously I hated vore. I used to hate M/f but now I love it because it feels natural to me. Ive embraced my switch nature. Which is why I love your work so much. Not to mention she does to. I would write more but sideways touchphone typing sucks.

Yeah, it's probably not the smartest route to travel. But I'm kind of testing the waters. Those that sort of had their interest piqued sent me asks on tumblr and I'm kind of feeling my way around it without saying it, and asking them what sort of kinks aren't too extreme for them and seeing where vore would fall along those lines. I wouldn't outright say it openly to the fandom or even my followers or friends, but maybe in private if someone manages to guess what it is.

I do have one single friend that knows about it and doesn't judge me, but we're not as close as we used to be and I don't think she's really that interested in it, so I don't talk to her about it very much. I've always felt like I bothered her with it.

I'm glad you guys enjoy my stuff, though. Thanks!

immensely yes. bringing back up the.... tutu incident, I didn't know that it wasn't a vore thing. if I did, I would have either been to nervous to show up, or stayed quiet the entire time.

Don't worry, it's not fear that's holding you back, it's common sense. I can understand that you feel like you're 'boxed in', especially since you're new to the vore side of things and you wish to have a few more friends to talk about it with. (( I'd offer to skype, but I'm paranoid about being that creepy net guy)) But at the same time you have had flak from the Tutu fandom about racy art, and you can probably expect a bigger helping of that if you 'come out of the kitchen/vore closet'. If you have friends you know and trust, then feel free to share it with them. They are your friends, and you know whether or not they'll take it ok, but for the rest of the fandom.... I'd say ease into it. Maybe start off with a 'softer fetish like SW (srunk women) and some ownership/micro play, then slip some voreish pics 'accidentally in a month or two, depending on how fast you post.

Really, it's up to you, and you should feel ok with what you enjoy... just keep in mind that siometimes that creeping fear is ok to listen to

It's true, most people won't understand where you're coming from unless they share the attraction. It's the nature of this and other niche fetishes, the more strange and perverse the harder it is for some to swallow it, if you'll mind the pun. If you're not wanting to explain it a lot, share with only people you trust; if you DON'T care and in fact openly call yourself demented for enjoying something like this, then more power to you, go on and spread the love, haha. We're all crazy, everyone, and it takes a special crazy to appreciate this fetish. Just don't drop the people you want to share with into something more extreme, start em out at the shallow end of the pool if you end up sharing, so that it'll be easier for them to understand and whatnot.

I totally know where you're coming from. There are a lot of fandoms where I'm the only one that like stuffing/vore. But sometimes I think you need to just get it out of you and share to get it out of you, but at the same time you do have to test the waters a bit to find people who are interested in it. I've met a few friends that way. As for Princess Tutu, man I really need to rewatch that series. I haven't watched it in forever, but it would be worth it to just comment better on your things. I still have the few AMVs for the show that are really cool too. (I think one of them is Mitternacht or something if I'm not mistaken.)

As a community I don't think is going to brings us any kind of harm, or at least no more hate that the one already have XD
Like almost all the fetish, being open about it is risky and can bring some unwanted attention. Maybe someday people will be less judgamental about this sort of stuff and things will get easier for us.

By the way, I just started watching Princess Tutu and I must say it wasn't what I was expecting at all XD (In a good sense). Knowing a little more about the characters bring a whole new light to most of your art. Also, ducks melt my hearth, so there is that.

Well, that could have easily been avoided if you had read my short post on the blog before going to the stream. I clearly explained that people there would not be familiar with vore and asked anyone coming from Eka's not to talk about it during the stream.

I wouldn't mind talking on Skype sometime, but I do use it pretty rarely and I stick more to using AIM through Pidgin. But yeah, as far as the fandom goes, it's really nerve-wracking. I did talk to someone from the fandom who has been following me for awhile and liked my work and we discussed having some similar kinks outside of vore. I thought it would alright to tell them, so I did. They had never heard of it and basically laughed at the concept, also saying "it would probably make me cry". I felt pretty stupid and ashamed. But they did at least assure me that they don't think of me any differently for liking it, so there's that, at least. As for working my way 'up' to vore... I don't think I could do it, to be honest. If I can find a few people in private that might be into it, I'd link them over to Eka's or something, but I would definitely not post any vore on my normal tumblr.

I definitely DO care, so that's why I'm testing the waters rather than diving in. I basically gave people a green light to message me privately if they were interested and I start by asking them what are among the most strange/out-there or socially-unacceptable fetishes they're into. That gives me somewhat of an idea of whether or not they would be receptive to vore or at least not find it appalling. That did backfire on me once already, though. The girl I talked to liked non-con and domination, but when I brought up vore, she didn't know what it was, looked it up, and basically thought it was hilarious. She didn't outright judge me for it, at least, but it was still really awkward.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel. This community is great and all, but I'm REALLY passionate about PT and the characters and having someone to share that with and a love for vore with the characters would be amazing. I did try testing the waters a bit. People keep telling me things like "I totally won't judge you", "I'm probably even sicker than you are", etc, but when it comes to vore, so far, most people don't even know what it IS. But yeah, Tutu rewatch is always a good idea! I was streaming it for awhile. Then I put it off to install a new graphics card, but I don't want to break my machine, so I haven't touched it. : S (There are a lot of great AMVs for it, though. I used to make PT AMVs back in the day, too. Good times.)

Yeah, it's not just about the community - I'm pretty well-known in my fandom, so if word were to get out that I was into vore, it would basically travel like wildfire and it would give my haters extra and more extreme reasons to think I'm a despicable and disgusting human being. I really don't want that. lol

Oh, glad to hear you're watching it! (And yeah, if you think it's not what you're expecting now, just wait until later! XD) Ahiru is too adorable for words. I grew even more fond of ducks after watching PT. Hahaha.

I guess, that's the beauty of being in the Hannibal fandom; everybody in the mainstream discusses who they want Hannibal to eat next. The show is an absolute love-note to eating; even going as far as having wide-shots of mouths and tongues, and gifting us with an endoscopy camera angle just a a few weeks ago. It's interesting to see the latent voraphilia raise its head from within the fandom as they comment how 'strangely arousing' it all is.

Though I understand where you're coming from. There are some fandoms I wish would embrace vore full-bore like Hannibal.

Yeah, fandoms like that and SNK are very open to it. Which is cool. It just stinks that finding support for it like that in my own main fandom will neeeever happen.
