My furrylife account

Permanent Linkby MirceaKitsune on Tue Jun 11, 2019 7:26 am

Once upon a time (meaning last week) I began noticing journals speaking of a certain Since many furries mentioned getting an account there, I asked myself "what is this new furry site everyone speaks of". And so I decided to embark on a 5 minute quest to check it out for myself.

One of the first things I observed is that you need an account to view any NSFW content. Taking a look at their AUP, I noticed they borrow the artwork police from the likes of Furaffinity, there to let you know what art is moral enough to be permitted. Alongside other strict rules as to what you may upload, such as regulations on whether your art is malicious in nature or how rapidly images may flash.

And thus I suddenly had a realization: "You know? I'm registered on enough furry sites as it is!"

And that everyone is the story of how I never got a Furrylife account. The end.

Update to my Patreon goals

Permanent Linkby MirceaKitsune on Sun Jun 09, 2019 7:35 am

A heads up to all my patrons: Considering the average patronage I've had for the past few months, I decided to bump my ongoing goals by -200$ to bring them at more realistic values. This means that source files for artwork will be released while over 200$, whereas early demos for small games (not already available on Git repositories) will be released at 400$. Previously those goals were 400$ and 600$ respectively.

This month I'll also be posting a few previews of what I've done on the Apartment RPG game, which is seeing quite a bit of progress: If you're curious grab the 5$ tier or higher. I plan on focusing on this game for the near future as far as RPG's go, to avoid doing a bit of work on multiple things but getting none of them done.

I should also have an announcement regarding Vore Tournament later this month, more specifically the next release. Stay tuned for that as well. ...

Slideshow Player: SoFurry support and mixed searches

Permanent Linkby MirceaKitsune on Tue May 07, 2019 1:24 pm

I've still been putting a lot of work into the Slideshow Player, bringing many new and important changes to the latest version. Here are some of the latest highlights:

The most important addition is support for SoFurry as an image source. I've had its script half-finished for a long time, but the site's API never worked quite well with it at that stage. The latest setup allowed for flawless integration, making it the 4th art website to be supported by the player.

Another key change is the ability to combine multiple independent searches into the same slideshow, which can be separated by the ; symbol. For example: The string "vixen, vore;pony, female" will offer 50% vixen vore results and 50% female pony results, of course offset by the difference in number of results for each item. The amount of requests to the server stays the same as to not increase request flooding: If you have one search pair, the player will request 10 pages for it (10 / 1)... if you have two search pairs,...

Updates: Easter render, Slideshow Player, Vore Tournament

Permanent Linkby MirceaKitsune on Wed Apr 24, 2019 6:33 am

The image for this Easter has just finished rendering. Since the Romanian Easter falls on 28 April, expect it in a few days from now.

The Slideshow Player received a much needed modification: Previously, all settings were persisted in a browser cookie, so whenever you opened the page it reverted to the last used settings. This was very inflexible, as well as privacy unfriendly considering some cookie tracking concerns; Settings are now stored in URL parameters embedded into the hash, meaning you may bookmark and even share every slideshow you create. Try it out:

Vore Tournament is itself being worked on and has seen some major improvements this month. This helps get it closer to the 2.0.1 release target, which I'm aiming to have out by this summer. As I wish to dive into the updates in more detail, I'll likely post about them next month......

April status update

Permanent Linkby MirceaKitsune on Wed Apr 03, 2019 8:45 am

To start off, I'm feeling a little better for the time being... at least slightly better than when I wrote my last journal. I don't know for how long it will last, given the situation here in Europe is developing rapidly and unpredictably by the day, and the overall fate of the free world and open internet is unknown at the moment.

This is the first point I wanted to start the update off with; The frank truth is that, the current world situation has gotten me into a crippling depression at this stage. Which is an issue because it doesn't let me work on much: I'm trying to find more days in which I'm free from depression enough to continue more projects. But with things getting so bad by the day, I can't even find a few days per week. Apart from my general state of mind, I've had to put more effort into the #SaveYourInternet campaign, including hours of activity on Twitter and calling MEP's on the phone... which again left me with little time to work on anything else. I'm hoping this will...
