Can it ever be NOT sexual for you?

Postby 157and493 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 8:41 pm

If you ARE sexually attracted to vore, like I am, is it possible for you to see it in a non-sexual way?
For me it is impossible to ever see vore as anything other than sexual, that is why watching Attack On Titan feels like watching very over dramatic gay porn to me... I am straight though so all it does is make me feel very uncomfortable.

Whenever any form of media involves vore, whether it was intended to be sexual or not, I am affected by it whether I like it or hate it.

Is anyone else like this?

Most vorish things are a little bit connected to some amount of sexual physiological response in me, but that's not at all the same thing as being turned on or into it. Sometimes it even happens in public around other people eating. The more I've been able to accept that, ok, fair enough, this arbitrary thing sometimes causes weird genital feelings, the more I've been able to disconnect my emotions from it.

So to use your example, I'm not usually that interested in masculine preds, and especially not ones as unsexy as terrifyingly deranged titans. But there were definitely places in Attack on Titan that I had that response even though I was grossed out rather than turned on. But that discomfort actually made it easier for me to get into the show, since it made me more horrified of the titans and better able to relate to what the characters were going through in some fucked up sense?

It's sexual by definition. So the real answer is 'no'.

However, I'm going to predict responses from people saying that for them it's about comfort/curiosity/platonic etc and not sexual. As has been posted in similar threads. The irony is that even for them it really is sexual, they just perceive sexuality differently and to varying extents are in denial.

There's plenty of vorish situations I don't find sexual, but that's just because my tastes are pretty narrow. Stuff like Attack on Titan doesn't really mean anything to me other than the horror/action aspect it was intended to have.

As someone who is asexual and emphatically not interested in sex, vore is my main sexual outlet. However, I've had non-sexual vore fantasies/play since I was a kid--at the time, they were much more associated with a need for maternal affection that I wasn't getting (so I would get eaten by protective, motherly characters). So while it's usually sexual now as an adult, it wasn't (and isn't) always.

Yes and no? I think a good analogy for me would be not seeing someone embarrassingly under-dressed at Wal-Mart is sexual. I feel a kind of embarrassment because of how it's adjacent to something I find sexual but in an inappropriate context, so the thing itself isn't "sexy". Using your Attack on Titan example doesn't do anything for me, for instance. I felt a little embarrassed when the general dude made the comment about wanting to be eaten by a female titan, in some weird nonspecific way. The rest of the show, not so much. The horror elements tend to hit with all the same force as I feel they should, etc.
Now 46% less bot-like!

Content is only sexual if it literally involves/relates to sex, is intended for arousal, or causes arousal. Not everything that could be considered vore falls under one of those categories for me, as the act of eating someone is not inherently sexual. So yes, it can easily be non-sexual for me if I have no reason to view it as "porn" and it doesn't speak to my interest "in that way".
There are a lot of things that involve or imply someone getting eaten that exist for aesthetics, humor/amusement, emotional appeal, horror, etc where sex and arousal are not a factor for me, regardless of whether I enjoy or have any interest in the scene. If it speaks to my preferences for vore, then I may have sexual feelings about it, but if it doesn't, then it wouldn't even cross my mind.

Vore is such an all encompassing thing, because it can be mixed with virtually every type other fetish, sexuality, etc. I have no attraction to M/M vore, and usually not with tentacle monsters eating girls, or people being eaten in a gory way. These still count as vore though.

If you're asking if the vore I personally like is always sexual to me, the answer is almost always yes. The only time I may not, is if I liked it because the picture had something funny in it, etc, or just was a really well-drawn picture in general.

Just because I don't quite understand liking vore without it being sexual, doesn't invalidate their existence.

I feel exactly the same way.

I never get angry over anything non-vore (except cuckolding), but the idea of m/f vore makes my enraged. m/m is just irritating, and animal/furry preds makes me sick. I can't not feel like that.

These are not rational feelings, so I keep them to myself as best I can, of course.

Although even though I am a man, being a pred is fine for me for some reason.

Vore has the capacity to be both arousing and "platonic" for me, depending on the scenario. For example, "cute" vore doesn't do anything for me in terms of arousal, but I can still enjoy it because of the "cuteness" or "protection" factor, or even because of the clever jokes and fun scenarios. A good example of what I'm talking about is a lot of aquadragon35's works, for those who are familiar with them. Aqua's art looks great, almost all of his characters are adorable, furry chibis, and I associate that kind of artwork with what I would call "cute noms"; not anything that I would find arousing, but something I enjoy looking at nonetheless. In addition, I find it very hard to be aroused by Aqua's art style and characters in general; not to mention he draws mainly M/M, which does absolutely nothing for me. That doesn't mean I can't enjoy his vore artwork; in fact, he's one of my favorite vore artists. I'm just not turned on by his stuff, which I have no problem with, because I appreciate his vore artwork in other ways, such as finding it beautiful, unique, funny, or interesting.

I feel this way because vore isn't inherently sexual to me. Vore and sex are mutually exclusive and have nothing to do with each other until the artist merges the two (this is what I would refer to as "vore porn", not just "vore", because pornography is mixed in with the vore). As a result, vore that isn't sexual can very much still be arousing to me if all the right criteria are met, but vore that IS sexual or pornographic in nature is almost always automatically a turn off for me because I'm not attracted to sex. Because I don't see vore as sexual or an act of sex unless made to be so by the artist, I am able to enjoy vore in ways that do not always result in me being turned on. Me being turned on by a piece of vore happens only once certain conditions are met in the artwork that my brain correlates to being "hot" or "arousing". I hope that this comment was able to provide some insight.

I can somewhat relate to what your saying. Vore is sexual to me only when I like the character who is doing it so if thats the case it is a turn on but if its someone I don't like or am not attracted to the act of them eating someone can be a turn off and make me dislike them some and be disgusted by them a bit.Unless there female i'm extremely picky when it comes to who I am okay with being pred so that does effect how I view seeing things in movies or video games.Like in a video game if a male character ate a female character I liked I would develop a strong dislike for that character not just cause he harmed a character I liked but because he did it in a way I usually find appealing but the fact it didn't play out like I preferred sorta spoiled the moment that could have been potentially really fun to see had the roles been reversed.

I'm the opposite. It's only sexual for me if it's one of the scenarios that I find sexual, and I'm kind of picky. Any vore that's consensual, or has females in it, or is of the endo type, or has some sort of role-flipping (like prey as predator) is not sexual to me, it does as much for me sexually as a dried garbanzo bean, so it's purely art for me at that point. And if it's good art, I can appreciate it as I would any other good art but I don't see it as sexy.

Depends on the scenario, and sometimes even the type of predator/prey. Sometimes I like to imagine non-sexual vore scenarios, sometimes I throw sex into the mix, etc. However, sometimes with non-sexual vore scenes from cartoons I happen to get weirdly turned on, so I'm not sure what to say. Let's just say it depends on diverse factors. I'd specify more but it really depends on how I'm feeling that day, and how suggestive the content I'm seeing/drawing is-

Generally we see a nude person (of the sex that we are attracted by) as sexual exiting. But very, very, very few would be aroused by an extreme lean person like someone that suffer of anorexia. And the large majority of people would not find sexy nearly all types of nudity, either.
Same happens to vore. Nearly anyone here will not find all types of "something eats, somehow, something else" arousing.
So yes, vore can surely be not sexual. It always depend from the tastes of the specific person.
Chronic lurker, that's all.

I dont think I can ever fantasize about vore without becoming aroused, but there are aspects of vore that I enjoy for non-sexual reasons, perhaps.

I often imagine myself being trapped or froze when I'm trying to fall asleep. I used to think about being trapped inside of a stomach, but these days I think that would be too arousing and it would wake me up.

So I guess for right now, vore is completely sexual to me. :P

I don't see Vore as sexual. It doesn't sexually arouse me, I enjoy it like I would enjoy a very cute picture of a character I like. Sure, if there's sexual stuff involved in the art or fic (be it actual sex or other kinks), I see it in a more sexual manner, but it still doesn't arouse me. Maybe cause I'm asexual? Not sure lmao

i both enjoy vore sexually and not sexually, i've been waiting for a while to talk about this. while yes, there is no question in my mind that i have sexual feelings involving vore and that i do in fact masturbate to it. HOWEVER another side of me has emotions towards vore that can only be described as "romantic"? or just comforting.

i used to be all into hardcore, digestion cruelty no questions asked, it was hotter than hell. however once i discovered the tumblr sphere of nonsexual vore searching for some art of a husbando of mine, i began to develop entirely different feelings, soon enough the appeal of softer more wholesome and cuddly vore began to tug at my heart.

and while i could never get off to it, it still harbours a great appeal on it's own, separate for my sexual vore feelings.

plus i've talked to personally some big names in the vore community outside this website and otherwise, some saying that they've always liked vore and that this was just an accident of birth others saying that their fondness for the the subject is new and that they don't understand why they enjoy it yet, some saying that they harbour no sexual feelings for the subject others saying they only harbour sexual feelings for the subject.

so yeah, i feel as though it can be both sexual and not sexual and it requires a certain amount of perspective to properly answer this question and that analysing your own feelings will only ever lead to understanding your feelings on the subject, rather than other's.

I normally do not respond to answers to my own questions, but what you described is so similar to my own outlook that I felt I needed to tell you.

Interesting. My likes and dislikes for this fetish at times can be so personal and picky that it can feel like nobody else thinks or feels the same way.I often settle for content that has things I like in it but rarely have I ever found anywhere material that fits my tastes exactly or close to.

I feel like it can. If it doesn't hit on the parts I like, accidentally or not, and emphasizes the parts I don't like, then I'll view it non sexually. Attack on Titan did this pretty well for me. It was about horror for me.
