Pornography is already banned from deviantart. The moderators are just unbelievably lazy.

lmao as if deviantart isn't completely chock-full of other variations of weird fetish art. they have a mature filter for a reason.

Why is eroticism any less of an art? What is less creative about it's production vs non erotic works?

Answer these questions before suggesting vore be removed from an art website.

We're no more odd than salvador dali was to the art world when he came up with melting clocks. Or picasso's art style.

Weird is art as well. :zombie:

I'd say no. Honestly, if it weren't for DeviantArt I don't think I have never heard about/found this place.

Short answer; no
Slightly longer answer; withdrawing all vore art from DA would just give the haters and trolls what they want, and a ban on it would cause some outrage I'm sure

You do know what the actual definition of "deviant" is, right?

"departing from usual or accepted standards, especially in social or sexual behavior."

So, um. No. Actually, DeviantArt is the *exact* place where people should be posting their vore art.

Flareblood wrote:After my last thread "Should we ban vore from DeviantArt?" completely fucking bombed, I guess I should rephrase it.

Like I said in that thread, it's become a big issue for fetish artists (and viewers of those artists) that there are SO many people getting triggered and posting hate comments on their art. Hell, there are fucking YOUTUBE VIDEOS dedicated to browsing DeviantArt and saying "HAHA LOOK AT THIS IT'S SO CRINGEY LOLOLOLOLOLOL" and I hate it so much.

I know there's no stopping people from being toxic like this, but perhaps we can cut down on it by encouraging fetish artists to post on actual fetish sites, instead of non-fetish sites like DeviantArt?

The solution to non-acceptance is not to hide behind a walled garden and pretend the non-acceptance doesn't exist. It doesn't work. Historically it has never worked.

Yes. Ban everything else from DeviantArt too, site is a shit hole.

Seriously though, it's technically banned already but not well enforced and it's not like I personally can stop people from posting it or anything else there.

This is the only thing I could find in DA's terms of service: "You agree not to use the Service... To upload, post, or otherwise transmit any material that is obscene, offensive, blasphemous, pornographic, unlawful, threatening, menacing, abusive, harmful, an invasion of privacy or publicity rights, defamatory, libelous, vulgar, illegal or otherwise objectionable."

The key words are offensive, pornographic, vulgar, and objectionable. This issue with fetishes is that anything could be a fetish and as such those key words are pretty vague at best and very subjective. So displaying fetishes without depicting sexual encounters explicitly, which is objective, is technically allowed. Hell, based off of their own terms of service you could potentially ban the majority of material posted to that site.

[Short answer is no.]

No, fetish art is just as valid of an art form as non fetish art. People are going to hate on things they don't understand its not worth getting up in arms about. I've had my own art in one of those cringe videos and it doesn't really bug me. Its not hurting community any.

You can actually find what they deem as porngraphic in their FAQd, and its very specific, not vaginal, or anal insertion, no erections, no spread open genitals, no sexual body fluids. They also dont allow phallic shaped sex toys.

"normal art". Ssssuuuuure. The first thing that comes to mind is a YouTube channel that covers deviantart cringe, simply called "DeviantCringe".

DeviantArt is a place that, on paper, welcomes a diverse range of opinions. It's very liberal. In practice, things are a little different. There are a lot of mouth-breathing idiots who have done absolutely nothing to justify the voice they've been given shitposting aggressively at all hours of the day. It's not as "welcoming" as it claims to be. But y'know, that's the (relatively) unmoderated internet.

So in conclusion to what everyone else has been saying: Take this opinion out back and put it down. Do not resuscitate. DeviantArt is not a place for kinkshaming. The staff doesn't consider vore porn and their opinion has merit. There are plenty of other neurotic places on the net that will pretend vore is a big deal if you want a community like that, but DeviantArt is not and will never be one of those places. It's one of the site's only redeeming qualities, actually.
