Platonic Vore Minority

Hello! I've been trying to search around and I didn't find a similar topic, so I decided to make a new one.

People are into vore for a variety of reasons, and are all across a whole spectrum of different levels of voracious. For some, it's the only way they can get off. For others, it's complementary to their interests. Some people are into soft vore because they think of it as a sort of hug. Others are in it for the taunting and humilation, viewing it as a sort of prison as dom/sub. Some people are just extremely enamored with saliva, or they like teeth and tongues. Some people are into the sadomasochist part with pain and hard vore, while others find it cute. Some people come here because they think of being digested as the ultimate finality of their life and get a morbid satisfaction out of it. Some people like hard vore and blood to itch their violence boner once in a while. But the overarching theme, is that vore is a sexual fetish.

I'm not sure if calling myself a voraphile is the best term, because it doesn't arouse me sexually. But it's the easiest to use.
While it doesn't arouse me sexually, it does make me happy, similar to how you would react if you saw something incredibly cute. The thought feels like getting a hug from someone you really miss, or eating your favorite food after not having it for a while, or the feeling after you laugh until your sides hurt. It's like the feeling you get after watching a Disney movie. It's a pleasantness that plasters a stupid grin on my face and makes me feel like a goddamned Disney princess.

I feel like platonic voraphiles are in the minority, but they're still equally valid and fun and I'd definitely want to meet more that maybe felt they were alone in it. I like to call them chewtoys, to distinguish.

Sensation. Sensual. Fascinating. Giddy.

It's a sensation for you and that's fine. You can absolutely refer to yourself as a vorarephile if you wish. A fetish or kink does not have to be sexual if you are not interested in it in that way, but it's obviously still attractive to you in *some* way. That is how it is for my mom when it comes to bad endings and vore in movies. She gets stupid giddy about it. I just happened to (possibly) get the sexual side of vore from her.

Interestingly, a lot of people on the Portal chat are into platonic or sensual vore so if you haven't been on there, you might try looking for some people there... but fair warning, you will still see a lot of sexual vore images and RP going on.

Also, if you're looking for non-sexual, non-nudity, non-violent vore, there is a Safe Vore forum under the Material Uploads section.

Ohh yay~ I am indeed one of these people. I have no interest in sex, in or out of vore content and the feelings you described is exactly how I feel. It just leaves me with a warm, happy feeling that makes me giddy for a while, even longer if it's a story I read or wrote. If you wish to talk more we can~

In all due honesty, a lot of people have the incorrect things in mind when it comes to the word platonic. However, I refuse to go into a rant about this, simply because it is a waste of intelligence to even bother.

I'm one of those who definitely is aroused by vore, but also I can understand those who feel differently about it.

But, a minority? I'm not so sure I'd agree; I'd say a good three of ten people into vore are like you. It may not be a majority, but the remaining seven are pretty close to evenly split, so...

But those are guesstimate statistics, take them as one will, and enjoy yourselves, regardless of how.

Not quite 30% Amy, but something closer to 3% as this poll would suggest.

That being said, welcome aboard, chewtoys. There's no reason why your preferences wouldn't also be welcome here.

I use it to mean "things that are not sexual, usually related to affection or relationship."

Is there such thing as a non-fetish vore site?

Yes! This is what I prefer as well! For me(and I know everyone has preferences) being eaten is not supposed to "feel good" or "be sexual" ya know? You're becoming motherfuckin food! I also sometimes enjoy prevore(as long as it follows in it actually happening) where the pray looks at the predator as his mouth opens, and they make a face of, "Fuck! I'm going in there!" and all of their thoughts races toward, "I'm actually gonna be dinner"

I'll probably edit this post a little later with some example from my collection if I can find them

I believe this is not quite what the OP was talking about but maybe I'm wrong.

You're definitely equally valid :)

Nobody should ever be made to feel unwelcome for not having the fetish. It's great to have you on board, as well as anyone else who likes vore without it actually being on their sexual compass. That's from someone who, frankly, has a stronger drive for vore than actual sex...

It's also worth mentioning that there are quite a few people who draw vore stuff to varying degrees on FA etc who don't possess it as a sexual fetish themselves. It's awesome that talented people are giving it a go and it's great for us as, yay, more content!

I absolutely welcome the idea of people who simply has vore as an interest being part of our community, and it's cool you're here. It's pretty open minded to have an interest and join a community where your interest is pornography to most.

I`m all for platonic vore, I love it! While I love my fair share of romance, sex, and S/M in vore, I always enjoy partaking in the lighter stuff. It makes me feel all warm and fluffy inside. In fact, platonic vore takes up most of my fantasies, next to sadomasochism. I especially love it when the predator eats the prey to help them, like keeping them warm, helping them to fall asleep, protecting them from danger, or simply hiding them from scary things. I quite enjoy the idea of a giant, handsome male predator gobbling up a cute, sweetly innocent little girl to protect them.

I've just made a discord server for this platonic vore niche. I'm not sure if the rules say anything about posting links.

Eka blasted a whole conversation because of posted Discord links, sending a bot message to each one of us (I hope she didn't single me out but it wouldn't surprise me if she did) saying that they're not allowed, though for Discord, that is completely and thoroughly unreasonable.

So...yeah.

3%? Wow...I either read something way wrong, or the poll in question hasn't quite reached out to every single last individual...(wagering the latter here)

Yeah, like I said, a word like 'platonic' is often considered a 'big word', and more and more people are using this stupidity supremacy to have people use more non-intellectual words, and try to make those of us of higher intelligence and/or higher academics speak, act and look just as stupid as they do.

See why I didn't want to talk about this? I almost went into a rage.

Well, alright. I'm fine with people's opinions on this, and if that's your thing, carry on, with hope in your hearts, and bricks in your hands. (kudos if you get the reference)

Sexual or not, we all enjoy vore and belong on this website.

My other posts that say that you have to find vore sexual to be a vorarephile is just me trying to use the term to the best of my ability and in no way trying to exclude others. It's just what that "phile" at the end usually implies. I think I read somewhere that you're going for a degree in neuroscience so your credentials are better than mine on defining that term.

I'm not going to pretend to remember the details of my stats class and how to calculate margins of error or make a meaningful conclusions using standard deviations. What I'll work off of, though, is that I know people make the case that Gallup polls are typically accurate for American national surveys and the organization usually has a sample size between 1500 to 2000 people in each poll because having vastly more people (which costs more work-hours) only weakly modifies the result by less than 3 percentage points. This figure is supported even though the polls are supposed to reflect the 240 million adults living in the US.

The link I posted last time included 729 responses from 2015 onward, which is a pretty hefty amount of participation for our much-smaller-than-240-million-accounts website. There's also the question that was actually asked in my linkā€”it was specifically "Do you masturate to vore?" rather than "Is vore sexual or non-sexual to you?" The exact words in the question matter. But fortunately, I found a much more on-the-nose poll right here.

The latter poll started in 2007, gathered 916 responses as of this time, asks directly whether it's sexual or non-sexual, and has a third option that simply says "Depends". This last part seems to throw a giant wrench into everything, since that option itself is very open to interpretation. Looking at the post on that page that includes the history of old forum responses before the sitewide poll changes, lots of people said "it depends on the situation" or "depends on the subject" or "it's erotic but I don't like sex in my vore". You might have been getting your 30% figure from this poll. In my interpretation, it actually seems like the direct phrasing ended up sowing more confusion with this phrasing than the obvious implication within "do you masturbate to vore?" But I think the real figure it going to be something closer to the 7% that gave a definitive "non-sexual" than the 3% of the more recent poll and the potentially 39% of the combined "depends" and "nonsexual" responses of the first poll.

Platonic? Nonsexual?

That's the same way I react to nonsexual, safe for work giantess stuff. Where the giantess just wants to give her boyfriend a hug or cradle him in her lap.

Vore is fucking weird, but I suspect that it's much more possible for someone who isn't into macro/micro to look at a picture of a girl with a tiny guy in her lap and think, "aw, cute!"

I think this pretty much sums up the feelings of the prey in every unwilling vore scene ever written.

I sometimes feel so odd because vore is three different things to me--sexual, an interest, and platonic. It's mostly platonic nonsexual and interest for me, but it's also the biggest part of my sexuality, though I only get turned on and see vore as sexual involving being eaten by my partner. Vore is such a huge part of my identity in so many ways, but more than anything it is this cuddly, pure, whimsical and magical thing that makes me happier than most other things.
