Stuff I Don't Really Understand

Postby randomtastic » Mon Dec 03, 2018 6:08 pm

As some of you might know, I'm kinda new to this niche. While I was aware of vore and what it was, my first true contact with it was when I was asked to make an unbirth commission thing, and some of the reference given came from this site. After drawing it, and without any other place to display the image, I created an account to see if anyone other than my client would like it and, to my surprise it was well received (almost 4.5k views, 74 faves). Oddly enough, the other things I uploaded don't seem to be of anyone's taste, and I'm at a loss trying to understand why... I can't draw things that people enjoy if I have no clue of what they like and what makes a drawing noteworthy. Any feedback on that? If you have any thoughts to share, please do so! Cheers!

First off and most importantly, that first picture is the only one actually featuring vore. I've noticed some tagged as "implied vore," but it's always such a stretch I don't even believe the tag applies. When I see a woman surrounded by tentacles I don't think, "Oh, she's about to get eaten!" even if the image is on a vore based site. I think, "Oh, she's about to get banged by tentacles!" While a perfectly viable fetish in itself, that's not technically what Eka's is for. I am, however, a little surprised the Samus X metroid pic doesn't have more favs/views, but I guess she's basically only wearing it as a hat.

Basically, my advice is to draw some actual vore if you want to get views on a vore website.

The most popular images will always be the ones showing people in the process of being eaten or taken inside, people with full bellies and some clue that proves someone is inside such as line imprints, and internal shots of prey.

Well, my advice would be to draw things that you enjoy (or things you are commissioned for ^^). You should draw things that you enjoy, not things that "people" enjoy. Why do people enjoy vore is, today, a complete mystery, so it is very difficult to understand and draw what they enjoy.

That said, even within vore there are some categories that are more niche than others. For example, few people are interested in stomach aches, so you may have much more success with non-stomach-ache drawings.
Another thing I noticed : if you are writing fanfictions, the more famous the base material is, the more views you'll get. The stories I wrote about the Simpsons and the Lion King made 3 times more views than the one I wrote on George Shrinks, and 2 times more than Touhou Project.

There are a few topics on the forum where people discuss about what they like in vore. You will see that everyone has his own kinks : some enjoy the warmth and the love of the "predator" protecting the "prey" (non-lethal vore), others enjoy the selfish and helpless annihilation of a innocent sentient being, I personally enjoy when predators are overconfident and get punished by a stomach ache, many people enjoy other things.
Also, on this page, you will find the tags most used among the gallery's works. This shows a "picture" of the more successful topics, but you should take this information coutiously :

The big attention getting qualities of your one pic is
-Female Pred (If you had marked the image with the tag "female pred" you'd likely have gotten even more attention.)
-Unbirth
-Big Belly

Really you don't need to do anything explicit for the vore community to gain maximum views. As long as it's a cute girl with a belly looking like she ate someone you're going to get a lot of attention.

This is pretty accurate, draw cute sexy girls with big bellies.
That is, if all you care about is the attention of others.

I've often found myself wondering the same thing, with some of my stories def getting way more attention than they deserved. When I determined unbirth to be the cause, I turned into a little sell-out shoving it into every story in any way I could, shame on me :c

Nothing too graphic, basically tentacle stuff.

That explains a whole lot! Those seem to be the go-to things to get attention.

It did. Even in more mainstream places, fanart has a tendency to have more popularity than original content. My most viewed pieces on DeviantART were precisely fanart, more specifically, Sally Acorn pics.

Well, as stated above, your popular pic was the only one containing vore.

That being said, the vast majority of people here on the portal have a preference for vore containing two anthropomorphic characters. Regardless of gender, size difference, and other factors. You really don't see a lot of monster vore, or animal vore. There are exceptions to this rule though, people really like snakes predators, but you see a lot less of this than vore with two anthropomorphs. and you see very little of things like tentacle monsters.

After taking a look at your page, I'll tell you frankly, why it's so popular.

1. It's arguably the only explicitly vore image in your gallery, the rest appear to be tentacle porn or bondage, which given this is a vore focused site, won't get as much attention, especially if you don't have an established viewership

2. Female preds are far more popular than any other gender as predator on this site

3. Unbirth is a niche inside of a niche, people are excited for new content

I looked at your gallery and I like your stuff. And yeah that pic is more popular because it has the large belly and part of the prey already nommed ^_^ Probably more tummies, dominant human preds, and poor prey/sex toy humans.

But thats just my opinion. For my stories its the more evil, sexy, dominant preds that make the most popular stories.

I don't think most users will watch non-vore tags. I do, however, watch the "unbirth" tag and your first drawing did show up. That first one has popular tags which gives it more traffic.
