Trying to remember the name of a vore monster! Help!

I remember reading in a book when I was younger about a certain monster. It was one of those books that show off monster folklores and stuff. One of the entries was a midget one that swallowed people whole and then I forgot if they regurgitate or shit them out full tour style but every time they do, their prey get shorter and shorter until they become as short as the monster, at which point, they are also now another one of those monsters.

It’s really been bugging me that I can’t remember what it was! Please help!

Yara-ma-yha-who. Australian, red fur, oversized head with toothless mouth, suckers on fingers to drain blood to weaken prey before swallowing. Regurgitates victims, btw.
