Well...... My family knows about my orca/shark chumbuddy sleeping bags because I take them with me when we go on vacation/beach trips. Whether they "know" can be said as another thing. That feeling is such a world apart! So many of us keep vore as a purely individual and entirely internalized experience for decades. Once we see for ourselves there are ways we can externalize it and not get hurt, and that people who already like us might even see vore positively because they like us, everything hits a little different.

As far as I'm aware people don't know about it and I'm mortified if anyone found out about it. A guy I like makes vore-ish jokes every now and then and it makes me nervous when he does and goes into detail about it and I'm like "..Is he into it? Is it worth bringing up?" I doubt he even knows what it is. It's also really rare for me to get turned on by things so I'm also worried it might kill it if someone or more than one person knew. Yes, but also no.

I'm not going to out anyone specifically, but when I first discovered that vore was actually a fetish, and that people many were actually into it, it was through other people's collections of various vore mediums. In a sense, I discovered their fetish and it then became mine. Back then, I was not very social (guess what? STILL NOT), so being discovered after my initial discovery was at most, a tiny chance.

I honestly could care less now; I don't publicly broadcast that I'm into what is in essence, an exceptionally brutal and violent form of BDSM, but I don't really hide it either.

Main reason for this is because I have enough to deal with; most people are not going to care that much about something like this (most of those that do probably deserve a one-way ticket to the not-realistic Jurassic Park anyway), so if it comes up in casual conversation, it comes up. I will often refer to reading material whose intended audience is underdeveloped youth; there's a lot of vorish content in those alone. I know how to make longer discussions of subjects increasingly discomforting if I wanna change the subject, and I almost never have to say 'let us change the subject'.

I'm not sure how embarrassed I've been about it over the years. I was pretty open about it with online acquaintances, but then they told me a bunch of stuff too and in many cases they were far away and we'd never meet, so I wasn't scared of any social consequences. And then I decided that it really wasn't *that* bad, and I made an effort to tell more people -- not to broadcast it to EVERYONE, but to not be embarrassed about it and to drop it in socially relevant contexts. I told a FWB I had a while back; she found it amusing and leaned into it for funsies. I think I told one friend after he confided that he finds women with gold teeth hot; others I've told when we talked about things that turned exes off or porn we're into or even scenes we find weirdly effective and compelling in cinema. I don't know if the people in my film discussion group are *explicitly* aware of my interest in vore, but they know I found certain scenes in Jennifer's Body especially titillating, lol.

And it does feel good to tell people, and it's even better when they're like "shrug" -- which is pretty much how everyone who's found out except my ex has been. I hope y'all can have that feeling, because it sure beats feeling like an unlovable weirdo freak. (I mean I still mostly feel like that, but at least now it's not because I'm into vore lol.)

I used to be extra careful, having two identities on the internets, for vore and for my everyday interactions. I was extremely scared of those mixing up.

One day, someone found about it and showed my art/started talking about it with my FC(Guild) from FF XIV. This bothered me so much and I overreacted, destroying years of friendship with many people, even outside XIV, in the process.
Spent 2~3 years avoiding the slightest interraction with anyone after that.
With time, I ended up reflecting a lot on myself. Ultimately, that made me quite more mature than I used to be, and now I simply don't care about what people would think of it, not that I yell "HEY I LIKE VORE" everywhere I go, I still keep it a secret, but wouldn't mind it being revealed or talked about.
If people considers me a degenerate, a weirdo, or whatever 'cause I have fun drawing/viewing that (It's not even a sexual thing for me, am somehow just passionate, having fun about it.), then they simply don't deserve me and weren't real friends in the first place.
I can understand people not liking that, and I appreciate people who at least try to understand why people could like that, or are curious about it.

There are Five people who know about my fetish. Two of my Brothers, my Mother and two friends.
One of my friends was the first who discovered it. I was on a visit at his place and let my tablet on his bed. On it was a E-Mail programm with the last posts visible.
One of them was a notification of a thread of the old Disturbed Things Forum. Something with snake vore. Suddenly he says something about snake vore and i was a little shocked when i realized he stared at my tablet.
I explained it to him already knowing he would not mind. Indeed, he perfectly known what vore is and even confessed that he is into unbirth.
Some time later i had a conversation with my mother about sexual stuff. (She is probably the most open minded person you can wish for)
At this occasion i told her about it and no harm done. At first she asked if its cannibalism. Then i explained it to her a bit and she was fine with it.

He even is a member of the community.

Like some people have said. I've reached a comfortable place with my vorarephilia. I'm not ashamed of it anymore and I don't allow myself to feel guilty about the fantasies anymore. (Being into fatal and unwilling did not help that situation ). I'm pretty much to a point now, that I don't care about people finding out. Now that doesn't mean I plan to broadcast it to the world. That's just plain self destructive and unhealthy IMO. But when it comes to people you trust and confide in. Keeping that part of yourself hidden just seems pointless and tiring to me.

I've now told a few people I trust (My best friend, my mom, and my brother) and they were completely fine with it. Actually my mom was confused why I didn't confide in her sooner since it was bothering me so much. I've shared with her everything else that's ever bothered me, why hold that back? Especially since I was allowing myself to become socially isolated and clinically depressed over it. So live and learn I guess.

But for the first time in my life. I feel normal and comfortable with myself and that is a wonderful feeling.

Honestly the lesson I've since taken from that experience is that I should mention it sooner to weed out women who'd be super weirded out, hah. As fetishes go, vore (or at least my angle on it) is about as harmless as it gets, and I'm all about embracing and laughing at the absurdity of it. My ex was a sweetheart, but her horror there and squeamishness in other contexts meant she wasn't the right person for me. So it goes.
