Does pred POV work in visual art?

Postby Tallexi (mention) » Sat Sep 19, 2026 3:53 pm

I very rarely see it done, so I'm wondering what y'all think. We see prey POV all the time, but I'm wondering how well it can work from the other side. Specifically, with macro/micro, like this:

I'm tryna work out how it could work in an animation. I think it could be interesting, since it would put the viewer in the place of the pred, but it also means you see a lot less of the action.

Thoughts?

POV of the swallowing seems nice, I've never seen anything like it before. Though, you are right about there not being much for the pred to see afterwards aside from the occasional bulge or kick, especially if they have any sort of breasts in the way.

As someone who has drawn same size pred POV, though, I can vouch that it works really well. I really wish there was more of it...
I really like Touhou.

While not macro/micro, I'm still really impressed with a pred POV comic page that Fidchell had done. I see a lot of potential with this sort of POV. I can see issues with it if there isn't a decent bulge of some sort, but I'm sure there's ways to make it work with macro/micro too if the belly is still shown? I'd imagine getting a good reference for such pictures could be tricky, though.

As someone who only likes Pred POV it does work, it's just rare due to how Vore is fetishized.
I'd disagree with the site in saying it's unrelated to fetishes like Cannibalism/Gore AS in most cases as digestion is actually extremely popular, but it's very close to concepts like quadruple amputee, Sexual Cannibalism, Snuff or mind control.

I do have a guess as to why Pred POV is so rare, it's that Vore Fetish people usually fall into three camps:
Those who are Masochistic and enjoy Prey POV, seem to be quite a lot although not all like Prey POV.
Observer types, Masochistic or just Submissive, who like the concept but never want to view themselves as either.
Those who are Sadistic, who usually prefer third person due to finding Pred POV kinda 'icky' as it personalizes it.
Sort of like how some people like an idea, but actually reading a first person book about it find it less appealing.

I imagine the third category might actually be a pretty large chunk of Vore Fetishists, as rarely are 'personal' characters used.
I also think it might be why ambiguous prey is such a common theme, as not seeing the prey 'depersonalizes' them.

This one by AgentV is amazing though and it's about the only I can think of regarding M/F Pred Pov.
Pred POV has always been rare even compared to Unwilling Pred content.

Still, I'd love to see a poll on this site in general around it. I imagine it's hard to figure out what the general crowd wants when there's never been a general poll for it.

I think you pointed out the matter pretty well here: from the pred POV you see very little of the action. I have written several pred-POV stories (all same size, but the point still holds), and most of what I describe comes from the sense of touch, or taste and smell at best. Most of what there is to see is before swallowing, and maybe the bulge afterwards, but even then the other senses feel more important.

I don't think so, I think it's more that people who actually prefer 'being the Pred' are just a lot less than other categories.
I was wrong about the survey, apparently this side did one back in 2022 and it does seem to confirm this.
Could also be effected by the fact a lot of Vore tends to be F/F or F/M and made by men, who usually prefer the male POV.

Anyway, it goes something like this:
Strict Preds like me and I imagine most of who'd prefer that type of content only make up 10%~ of Vore fetishists.
About 65% likely wouldn't care that much for it, and 'Switch' vore types it's a toss up but I still imagine not that many.

For me taste, smell and touch are important but for me it's the process. Quick, or hammerspace-y stuff, just doesn't work well for Pred POV. To me it needs to be slower, more intimate and swallowing usually shouldn't be a single line. In my opinion there's actually a lot that can be involved, the lead up, the vore itself than the 'afterwards' e.g. digestion and the Prey talking from inside, which is underrated IMO.

I've seen great stories for it, but since a lot of artists primarily work for commission it's just a small niche appeal type of thing.
If someone is looking for Attention or Commissions it just makes far more sense to target Observer or Prey POV than it does Pred POV.
I think the issue with Pred POV the old 'Niche in a Niche' issue.

I think the feeling I'd want to get across as best as I could would be what it's like to be the pred. But as you say, so much of that is from sensations other than sight. That's all much easier to portray in written form. Maybe old reliable tricks like using a mirror or phone screen to show the other angle would help, but I also wonder if that would take away from the main purpose. Or maybe giving the pred some dialog would work. Just spitballing here.

I've seen it done before, it can work decently enough. I kinda like seeing a bit more of the pred and especially belly though, so I'm not the biggest fan most of the time since it obscures those.

What is quite similar and I think hits nearly every time though is inverse mawshots. Placing the perspective inside the mouth works almost every time I see it, regardless of execution and technical level. I've seen some instances of it being used for a longer period of time, not just a single image/panel too.

The 2022 survey does tell that strict preds are indeed only ~10% of us, but combined with switches (like me) that gets up to ~40%. Though you're probably right about the gender thing. Finding M/M stuff can be pretty hard at times.

On that I agree. Building it up slowly can carry a lot of the weight. And boy, do I love a slow, sensual swallowing scene (both prey and pred POV)! Most of the time I will not manage to contain myself, and get off halfway through the swallowing.

The hammerspace thing actually works rather well for me, though I agree that, for a strictly-pred POV visual, the bulging belly is a lot more appealing. After all, even in writing I struggle to get the pred-POV digestion more appealing with feelings alone (but maybe that's my very own limitation).

I think the dialog can actually help here. I'm thinking of a pred basking while he looks at his handsome prey, and then "handsome" becomes "tasty" and that person starts to look like a snack. Or massaging his full, bulging belly and describing how good it feels while the bulge gets rounder/softer/smaller. I'm just spitballing too, but you got me inspired 😉
