Tagging system too "aggressive"?

When I upload and type the tags in, it feels too aggressive and tries to be "right" all the time. It'll change what I type and it constantly gets things wrong. It also applies to the tag browsing too.

For instance if I type F/? as a tag, it'll try to put F/F if I type too quickly. If it's an uncommon tag however, it'll keep forcing me to enter it unless I click out of the text bar.

Anyone else feel this is kind of a nuisance? I've noticed it for a long time now, but it's getting on my nerves.

I had a similar problem with Owl getting defaulted to Owlizard, of all things. Made tagging a pain.

Yeah....sometimes I just can't win against that thing when it wants me to pick a tag to search instead of the one I wanted hahah. Still I'm a good sport and tell the thing "Good game, you beat me fair and square, I guess I'll do it your way."

You guys are talking about two completely different thing:

1 Auto complete:

Just type the entire tag and not press enter too soon. That should fix your problem

2. Alias:

Alias is an attempt to minimizes common redundant tags ( ie, female prey, girl prey; Acids, acid, etc. ) the problem with the tagging is that alias is not very clear.

Obviously all of these are manually entered and there isn't an easy way for the community to add alias, and it isn't displayed anywhere which causes problem. Of course, different opinions and stuff. All it is meant to do is minimizes redundant tags or common spelling mistake. If someone want to help add more to the list (remember, these are some very manual administrative process. I don't even have an UI for it yet) feel free to let me know.
