Pito's Big House Adventure (Me and Stray)

(I was thinking of continuing and having Pito befriend Jack.)

(Oh well, in that case)

Jack awoke late the next morning, stretching and yawning as he did so. It seemed his owner had already left for work and put all the cushions back in place from last night. He went into the kitchen to discover that his food bowl was full with kibble, which he began to eat, almost forgetting that he still had the rodent in his stomach.

Pito woke up with a stretch and a yawn. Pink filled his vision as he had remembered that he had fallen asleep in a dog's stomach. "Good morning!" the Pekenyo said tiredly to the dog. But soon, mushy food started to rain down on him. "Hey, stop that! I'm still in here!" Pito yelled.

"Hmm..?" Jack mumbled, looking up from his food bowl with a dull expression on his face. It took him a few moments to realise, just where the voice was coming from and why. "Oh sorry rodent, I'm not a morning dog."

"Could you let me out now, please?" Pito asked, remembering the deal that the dog gave him the night before, and hoped that he would hold his end of the bargain.

"Of course I can, just give me a minute." jack replied, moving away from his food bowl and aiming his mouth down at the tiled kitchen floor. "Brace yourself." He added, as he began to wretch, attempting to get the mouse up his throat.

Suddenly, Pito felt the stomach walls constrict around him. He was moving back up the dog's esophagous along with some of the partially digested dog food that rained down on him several minutes ago. "This is so gross!" he groaned. "But, at least I'm still alive."

With an almighty belch, Jack sent the rodent flying from his mouth, followed by a trail of saliva and chewed kibble. "It could be worst, you could've annoyed me so much that I digested you, then the journey out really wouldn't be good."

Pito flew out of the dog's mouth, coated in saliva and dog food. He went back to the giant canine. "I'm glad I didn't go that far." he said nervously. "You know, you're actually not bad. I kinda like you now." the Pekenyo smiled, scratching him on the chin.

"Yeah well, just make sure you don't try and take anything without asking in the future okay. Some other dogs might give you the full trip if you know what I mean." Jack replied with a wink after licking his lips clean of saliva. "But I guess you're not bad yourself...for a prey animal."

"I promise, I won't try stealing anything anymore. I learned my lesson." he laughed a bit. Pito was starting to grow on the dog more. "I'm Pito, by the way." he introduced himself. "What's your name?" the Pekenyo asked, continuing to scratch the dog under the chin.

"Me? I'm Jack, I'm a Japanese Akita dog." Jack replied, letting out a small yawn. "And remember, I only one of maybe two or three dogs on this street that won't harm you, though I would suggest avoiding the Rottweiler two doors up, he's got a mean appetite."

"It's nice to meet you, Jack." Pito said wth a friendly smile. "If it's okay with you, I might come back some day to visit. I'll be sure to stay away from the other dogs and everything. "

"I guess it couldn't do any harm, just try not to come at too late a time, I'm not one that likes to be woken up." Jack replied, standing up and heading toward the dining room.

"I'll remember that." Pito said, climbing up Jack's body, getting onto his head, and playing with one of his ears.

"But for now, I'm afraid I think it's time you went on home, I need to have some breakfast and keep an eye out for intruders." Jack added, walking to the front door, with his head next to the post box.

Pito was about to head for the post box. But, he got on his belly and hugged Jack's muzzle. "I'm gonna miss you. Even with everything you did to me, it was fun!"

"Wish I could say it was all the same for you.." Jack replied, remembering the all the trouble of the previous night, including the painful bite he had recieved. "Just make sure you avoid stealing from other dogs' houses, it can be dangerous."

"Goodbye. Thanks for warning me about all of that that stuff. It really helped." he said with a smile before slipping out of the mail slot and back to his village. He had arrived home, unable to contain his excitement about telling everybody about what had happened the night before.
