Diplomacy (Siuddithsi and Order of Insects)

Steel. Alloyed steel, sweat, stale air and cold artificial lights. Irol hated life on the station, but as an ambassador of the Lepid species she was duty bound to serve. Anyone watching would have seen a slender and short but beautiful and full lipped woman, her graying hair falling between her wings. She idly waved her wings, butterfly like wings almost 5 feet tall and wide, to bring some breeze to the stale, sweaty station air. Today there was an assembly of the Galactic Council, it seems some civilization on an outer galactic arm had not only managed to kick Gn’hoth ass, they had started to encroach on other civilizations. They surrendered to the Galactic Alliance to petition for membership, but it didn’t look good for them. They were not only violent carnivores, but had been genetically engineered by the Gn’hoth. Not even a valid species.
“So, Irol, have you heard the latest?” Ambassador Labin of the Lares asked. “They say they’re some of YOUR kind.” Labin was openly phobic about insect related species, a fickle ally at best. She supported the Lepid action against their slavers, but as a moral point instead of a friendly alliance. “Insectoids. FLESH-EATING insectoids. Flesh eating RAPIST insectoids! Reports say a lot of the Gn’oth casualties were...missing...substantial percentages of their bodies. And their women...” Labin shuddered. “I shudder to think what they endured. What do you think about it?”
Irol thought. Only a few more months until her retirement. Sigh. “Labin, you’ve no idea how much we appreciated Larisian help when we filed suit against the slavers for illegally harvesting our species. We got help from many worlds of the Galactic Alliance, in tracking our stolen sisters and liberating them...”
“So you understand that we need to work together to keep these bugs from taking over? Wonderful, I’m so glad we see eye to eye!”
“Labin, who worked together for the last two hundred years as the Gn’hoth conquered 7 worlds and drove 3 sentient species to complete extinction, and two others to near extinction and slavery? Who opposed their using the same tactics of creating genetically engineered monsters to feed on the populations and weaken them for invasion, that they used on this planet?”
“But... but that’s different...the Gn’hoth were a member of the alliance...we had to use proper channels...”
“Proper channels allowed over 40 billion sentient beings to die. And I’ll play the species card here. They weren’t humanoid. The octopoid race were processed for calimari. The films of the young ripped from the tentacles of their mothers as they were thrown screaming into the processors with the rotating knives went viral years before their extinction. They were begging for help in Galactic Common Language and half the council were argueing that they weren’t sentient beings that needed our help. The bovines don’t exist outside of Gn’hoth dairy cells anymore...”
“But the Bovines can’t even speak common. The report summary said they didn’t move to address the inspectors when their servitude was under review.”
As Labin spoke, another pair of women approached, both resembled Irol as members of the same species, save that their lips were not only full, but bright red. Labin’s attention however, moved to the ceiling where she stared in disgust. There, a caterpillar fully 5 feet long and 5 inches in girth inched along, coming to a stop above the women and looking down. And it spoke.
“I’ve read the complete documents. The full report pointed out that the bovines had feed tubes strapped into their mouths, waste tubes shoved up their asses and were strapped into cage frames so tight they weren’t ABLE to move to address the inspectors. And their review was processed in half the usual time, most of the council didn’t have time to read the full review. The review was funded by the Gn’hoth dairy industry.”
“But...but...” Labin stammered. Her expression was part disgust looking at the caterpillar that had just spoken and part the dawning realization that her casual dismissal of the review may have doomed an entire species to death in servitude.
“Thank you Gamlis, you made the same points that I would. Labin, the prisoners are on deck 48. Gamlis, Orita and I were going to visit. Would you care to come along and see if the current report can be trusted?”
Labin looked at the caterpillar, then looked like she’d just drank a mouthfull of piss, and was contorting her mouth because it would be impolite to spit it out. “Uh...no thank you. I need to finish preparations for the meeting. I’ll see you there.”
“Very well.” Irol said, looking into Labin’s eyes. “I’ll be sure to reveal my findings at the meeting. Gamlis, Orita, lets go.” With that they walked into a nearby elevator, Orita, Irol and the third girl on the ground, Gamlis on the ceiling. “Deck 48”, ordered Irol, and as the doors began to close
“Gamlis, you couldn’t have left your pet in our cabin?”

"Think of Koko as a precaution," Gamlis replied, as he joined them in the elevator, "especially if these prisoners are as dangerous and sexually aggressive as the reports say." As much as he liked Koko, the safety and dignity of the ambassadors needed to be protected; if the prisoners attempted to rape them, they could possibly use Koko as a decoy. And of course, Koko was just fun to have around, Gamlis reached a hand over to fondle Koko's breast; Koko wiggled her hips and made an 'O' shape with her mouth and moaned lightly.

Unlike Irol, Gamlis loved it in space, everything was new and exciting and there were so many different aliens to meet. The Lepid ambassadorial arrangement had traditionally been to have at least one male around to prevent the females from reverting, in Gamlis' case, he was one who had not yet undergone his metamorphosis. With his first one coming soon and Irol about to retire, Orita, who was Irol's aide, would become ambassador and Gamlis would mature and then become Orita's aide, while an intern would join them to inherit Gamlis' position.

While serving as intern, Gamlis had interacted mostly with other insectoid species, most of whom had been fairly honest, straightforward, and pleasant to deal with. He understood that Irol and Orita's positions were much more difficult as they interacted mostly with humanoids like Labin. Taking a more serious tone Gamlis continued, "I hate the way she looks at me. We're pretty lucky, we benefit from 'humanoid privelege' because we're 'humanoid-passing'. But sentients who are not so lucky are treated like shit by the other council member species. And the Gn'hoth are given so much forgiveness for what they do because they're humanoid. I wouldn't be surprised if these prisoners are just being given a bad rap."

The elevator doors slid open on deck 48, at the Guard station. "Ambassadors to interview the insectoid prisoners from the Gn'hoth war", said Irol.
"Yes ma'am, please sign these papers and walk this way." The guard handed signature pads to the humanoids, and Gamlis when he cleared his throat "Ahem!"
The Lepids signed and handed their release of liabilities back, Koko quizzically looked at hers then tried to suck on it, her answer to nearly anything, leaving a clear pair of lip prints on the signature panel. Gamlis took the panel and signed as her guardian, standard procedure for slaves and pets.

"The console at the end of hall "A" will release the individual force fields and place the force cage in a position you can talk to the prisoners face to face.", the guard explained. I see the release for your…pet, is both a conjugal visit and a…meat processing license? Is that right?"

Irol sighed. "Yes sir. We need to be absolutely certain of the intent and nature of these creatures. Unfortunately, I fear anything short of exposing them to potential prey will allow them the chance to control their emotions, hiding their true intent and danger"

"Yeah, I see your point. Shame about the pet though. I thought better of you people." He pushed the button allowing them to proceed to the console.

From the console, they could see 5 cells with access to the force fields controlled by the console. In three, beautiful women stood at the field or sat on their bunk. Each of them had membranous wings folded across their backs and what appeared to be high heeled shoes, enclosed in modified limb cuffs of the kind designed to keep species from using their claws. Then the ambassadors noticed that the "high heels" seemed to be some kind of claws or stingers. The rest of their appearance was humanoid and attractive even in the prison jumpsuits.

One cell held…a Bovine? The female had full black lips, a small black, wet nose and cow-like ears and tail, but otherwise looked hairless and humanoid. A row of four pairs of udders from her chest to her belly, each easily the size of a basket ball. She ignored the women and spoke directly to Gamlis. "Hello? Are you here to help us? Please, my people need help, these people…" she gestured at the insectioids, "…are the only ones to set us free, can you help them? And…" she looked embarrassed. "I…need to be milked. I'm engorged, it hurts so bad. Please, don't let them…" and she glared at the humanoid looking Lepids…"hurt us anymore".

Irol was surprised that the bovine spoke in flawless galactic common. She knew they weren't mindless as the report claimed but she didn't expect they were as obviously intelligent as this young lady. "Orita, please check the logs. Make sure these people have lawyers. Good lawyers, not paid by the Gn'hoth. If not, find some and we'll pay for it. Put in an order for a milker for this young lady. Gamlis, see if she needs you to suck them until we can get that milker here…"

"No.", came the reply from the 5th cell. Within, a chitinous blue-black frame stood up to it's full 7 ft height. A beetle's blue-black carapace covered the frame of a creature that looked partly like a humanoid skeleton and partly like a praying mantis with four three-foot long predatory claws. It had dragonfly like wings, grasshopper like legs and what looked like humanoid skin rolled up at its joints as if it was sleeves or socks. "The Gn'hoth have strong allies. Physical contact with myself or my allies could be construed as collaboration. I recommend buying that milker instead of going through channels, to get it here fast and show that Mmmbarr and I are in complete control of our sexuality and our intellect."

Irol addressed the creature. "You seem to be the leader. Come forth, introduce yourself and address your request for inclusion in the galactic alliance". Irol tapped the console to turn his console into a corridor. 'Looking around in these insectoids seems habitual' Irol thought to herself as the creature strode over.

"Lurker, are you sure these humanoids can be trusted?" asked Mmmbar. She seemed surprised that humanoids would try to help.

"I'm sure. I can smell them. They're different life stages of the same species." Koko tried to hide behind Gamlis, obviously afraid of the monster, but couldn't since he was on the ceiling. She saw the Lepids weren't afraid, so she used her main weapon: bending over and presenting her red, swollen labia. She was in heat and desperate for a very, very hard fuck. "Except that one. I'm not even sure she's sentient." He turned from Mmmbar to Irol. "They call me 'Lurker', because I lurk in darkness. It's the name I've gone by since the Gn'hoth turned me into…this."

"She's a member of a confirmed non sentient slave species", said Irol. We heard you needed sex or food from humanoids. Gamlis!" At his name, Irol pointed and Gamlis sadly put Koko in the entrance cage, releasing her into the speaking cage with the Lurker. Koko tried to return to Gamlis, but jumped back when the force field sparked.

"In heat, I smell. Well, sorry to disappoint, but I suspect any attempt to mate or devour the little minx would be taken as a proof that I'm an uncontrollable rapist or anthropophage" Koko went from presenting her self, to actually humping his leg. He patted her head "Good girl, just be patient and I'll give you a good hard fuck when the trouble is over."
.
"The story is that about a hundred years ago the Gn'hoth sent scouts to our world to plant genetically engineered monsters to attack us and decimate our population in advance of their invasion, their typical invasion strategy. About 40 years ago we discovered that one of their ships had crashed as it tried to return home, and we were able to determine rough invasion plans from the ships logs. I was called in as a consultant because my specialties, entomology and arachnology, were related to their monsters. Turns out the ships mainframe AI was programmed to destroy humans who accessed the mainframe, the brass, uh…leaders, knew this and the invasion plans had been deciphered a page at a time, each costing a life. Fortunately, the AI's logic circuits were damaged in the crash so it accepted my offer to become a genetically engineered horror to advance the invasion. Yes, before that I was human. It accepted my requests to cross me with formidable predatory insects and high gravity insects, for greater strength and speed, not realizing I was crossing with creatures that could kill the spiders the Gn'hoth had created to destroy us. It gave me the ability to bestow similar powers on others but my genome is so altered I can only transmit part of it at a time, like for my wasp daughters over there". He gestured at the women whose feet were shackled, who nodded or waved as the Lepids looked in their direction.

"So I stopped a plan for our government to control the spiders (the idiots didn't even realize spiders don't use pheromones), lead the drive to create our own starships based on the crashed scout ship and brought the war to the Gn'hoth. During the war we found the planets they'd conquered earlier and the surviving species were eager to join the rebellion, like Mmmbar here". We had them on the run when they offered surrender, if we did the same and we surrendered to the galactic alliance. We knew it was a trap, of course, we made certain backup plans were in operation before we surrendered. We hoped that the involvement of the galactic alliance could bring their atrocities to light, but knew we had to outsmart their allies.

Are you able to help us?" The Lurker, wasp women and Mmmbar looked expectantly to Irol for her answer.

(feel free to answer in a similar vein for Irol. I've been looking at this as "what would happen if we lead an invasion to the stars" and figure there'll be a lot of negotiation going on. Unfortunately that's much longer than "grab n gulp", but I think a better read. Lurker will suggest looking for successful legal defense in similar situations, data to show they're sentient, and other similar defenses)

(I would prefer a longer more in depth RP with episodes of sex and vore so this is perfect. I hope my posts aren't too short by comparison.)

Gamlis breathed a sigh of relief that Lurker didn't immediately tear into Koko and listened intently to his story. "While you're not exactly alone in your animosity for the Gn'hoth, I don't know how much we can help you. We're not exactly council favorites ourselves. But you have presented a few useful pieces of evidence in your favor. For one, this bovine is far more intelligent than reports indicate. If she can demonstrate her intelligence and the intelligence of her race, it calls into question many Gn'hoth practices. Secondly, you claim to be a human that has been modified by the Gn'hoth. The council is...unusually empathetic to humanoids, at the slight exclusion of all others. Our race straddles that line of privilege so we are acutely aware of how different 'shapes' are treated. The only downside is that while it may be advantageous to the race to which you used to belong, it may set back progress for what you are now and your wasp daughters, or other kin."

Gamlis looked at the prisoners, finding the wasp women and the bovine very attractive, though he managed to maintain his professional composure as a diplomat. Still he regretted not being able to milk the bovine, he would have loved to give her a thorough fondling. Lurker, on the other hand, was extremely intimidating, and Gamlis looked at Irol and Orita to check their reactions. While he himself was not mature enough to appreciate receiving rough sex, Gamlis knew that just seeing a specimen as fearsome and powerful as Lurker must be extremely arousing to the females. Gamlis even felt a warm stirring inside himself, feeling his cock go slightly hard, surprised that Lurker's presence even had an affect on himself, though Gamlis knew he was close to maturation and was already beginning to slightly feel female urges.

"The attitude of the council is not exactly unanticipated, my experience with humans shows disdain even for differences between populations of our own species. However, I suspect most of the council what we call "bleeding hearts", that is, able to fix on the plight of a minority if you can elicit sympathy. So here's my plan. I suspect the Gn'hoth are going to try a legal maneuver to have us declared non sentient, and therefore proceed to eradication measures. If you can call in any favors you owe, we can call procedural motions to have this changed to an official hearing, not just on we engineered insectoids but on our parent species, Homo sapiens, humanoids who should elicit sympathy. Five insectoid species have contacted us about an alliance, they've experienced the same discrimination you have. Eight carnivorous species have talked about how humanoids fear them for their diet and…"
"About twenty motherfucking perverts have approached us about sex in return for their vote!" interrupted one of the wasp women.
"Yes, so there are over thirty potential allies, we'll give you names before you leave. Some renegade "good" Gn'hothi will also be speaking on our behalf and presenting more Bovines and other races the Gn'hoth have exterminated or enslaved, along with proof that their reviews of sentience had been falsified. There's more.", said the Lurker. With that he made heaving motions and eventually coughed up several lozenges of plastic and metal. "These are electronic storage devices. If you can find techs to download the information, there are images of humans killed by the spiders the Gn'hoth created. The Gn'hoth are going to try and make this about big, scary insectoids. Lets beat them over the head with sympathy for humans they've killed. If they cry we raped them, we counter with spider snuff porn. They actually filmed spiders ovipositing inside human women until they die, laughing over it or masturbating over it. We have films of similar acts against the Bovines, fucking them while they're chained in their stalls. You can hear the Gn'hothi voices in the background supporting my statements. If they counter that we're abominations that were artificially created, we counter that they were the creators. Without their genocidal invasions, we would never have the technology for genetic engineering on this scale, or interstellar travel, for centuries. If the alliance has a law against interfering in primitive cultures, they're guilty as sin. We turn this meeting into a referendum to prove our sentience and petition that planet Earth be accepted into the alliance, not for our sake, but for Homo sapiens, a humanoid like much of them and our ancestors. Also, we need stylish clothes to fit our frames. Humanoids are fixed on appearance and leaving us naked, or in prison garb, prejudices people against us. Once we, and humanity are declared sentient, we can petition to be released on our own recognizance to give this lady…" he pats Koko's head, "…the attention she deserves. Then, we can petition for a hearing to take the Gn'hoth to trial for war crimes. Once their allies realize they've been a part of Gn'hothi atrocities, I think they'll loose a lot of powerful friends."

(Hey. I have an idea in mind for the Gn'hoth appearance. When you reply, leave me the reveal. Thanks)

Gamlis listened to Lurker's proposal, feeling slightly embarrassed when Lurker mentioned races who wanted to trade sex for votes as the same thought had crossed his own mind. Gamlis was thoroughly impressed at how much thought Lurker had put in; he was sure that as a seasoned ambassador, Irol probably had similar ideas, but Gamlis was nowhere near that level. But a thought crossed Gamlis' mind: Lurker already had allies and seemed more or less ready to strike, what need did he have for Lepid help? Might it not be better to simply sit back and watch? If Lurker succeeded, then the Gn'hoth would fall and the Lepids would benefit as well, but if Lurker failed, the races who had chosen to ally with his cause would face serious repercussions from the Gn'hoth. Pulling Irol and Orita aside, Gamlis posed his concerns, and asked if this was a case where they should opt for caution and refuse to aid or hinder, or if they should stick to principles and offer to help.

(Actually, it was a wasp woman who mentioned the sex)
"Most of diplomacy is talking, Gamlis. It's easier to get answers that way. Observe.", said Irol.
"Lurker, if you have Allies and a backup plan why do you need our help?"
The Lurker looked from Gamlis to Irol. "I said those species had talked, not that they were allies. Three of the carnivorous species company names & addresses were on receipts we'd found for purchase of sentient flesh from Gn'hoth conquered worlds. How likely are they to be allies or fishing for information to use against us? Vrrna, how many of the pervs were looking for information to smear us?"
"Four weren't aroused, one became aroused while we talked. I'd say 1/4 of them were trying to smear us as oversexed nonsentient sluts.", the wasp woman replied.
"Without revealing info, our backup plan is total war. Our world likely dies. Same for theirs. They'll call in their allies & how many world's will be in ruin when it's over? Our morals say it's better to risk loss than lay waste to part of the galaxy.", the Lurker explained as he looked at Gamlis as if he'd heard him.
"Further, no matter how new you are to the alliance, you know more of alliance politics than we do AND you're in a position to look for allies, intelligence or friends of friends." The Lurker gestured at the force fields around him. "We aren't."
"So why should you care? Our failure justifies the Gn'hoth. They'll have proof that the alliance will ignore any atrocities they commit. Will they be bold enough to invade & conquer existing alliance world"s, falsifying business contacts and other documents to mollify the council into ignoring their actions? You'll find out."
"On the other hand, if we win, we send a message that the alliance will no longer allow primitive cultures to be exploited. I think that's a goal worth working harder than you ever have before."
Irol looked at Gamlis. "Any questions?"

(Oh yeah, good catch.)

"No questions," Gamlis replied. "I apologize for seeming indecisive, but I'm sure you understand the need to be cautious in this situation. I'm just an intern so I won't speak for my entire race, nor will I speak over the ambassador, but I personally don't like the way the council is now, nor the Gn'hoth and their corrupting influence. You have a very well put together plan, but it needs allies to work. You have set in motion something that might change the council completely or lead to a galactic civil war. Still, if I were ambassador...I'll take my chances with your plan." Gamlis looked to Irol for validation.

Re: Diplomacy (Siuddithsi and Order of Insects)

As Gamlis talked, Irol thought. She had been one of the originals, caught by slavers using blasters to stun their humanoid tribe. She learned galactic common by following orders on what sex to have, until she finally saw creatures interviewing the humanoids and heard the fateful sentence "If we can prove them intelligent, you have to set them free", that had given her the courage to speak. For thirty years she had thanked the fate that her captors didn't notice that the Lepids were intelligent beings captured with the humanoids, so they didn't take steps to silence them or put "company men" into the sentience evaluation team. Irol knew better than most, about the dangers of being a low tech species in a high tech galaxy.
"Orita, talk to the Lurker and his associates, get the names of everyone who's spoken with them and find out which they think are sincere and which were just looking for dirt. I have some contacts I can trust, to ask for legal aid, clothing and deciphering those data discs. Gamlis, The insectoid members of the council will probably connect better with someone who looks insectoid. Call them and explain the importance of this case as advancement for insectoid rights and representation on the council. True insectoids often lack empathy and need to see how things that affect other species can affect them. Since there are so few insectoid species, by the time you finish that, the data discs should be translated. Prepare them as evidence to support first that the Earth creatures are intelligent and next to support bringing charges against them for their crimes. We have a few hours for this, we can't waste a second, but we just might be able to get a voting block to squeak this by.
The first few hours they made contacts and evaluated who was friend and foe. The next few hours they built their strategy. Then it was meeting time. The opposition spoke first.

The Gn'hoth delegation took their place in the amphitheater. Most of the true insectoids in the alliance didn't see why they commanded such respect, but the Earthlings were very aware. The Gn'hoth were about 4-5 feet high, slender with gold to silver hair, their breasts and hip just buds to show they were adults and their eyes…were large puppy dog eyes like kawaii anime characters come to life. The Gn'hoth were the alliance equivalent of the pretty, popular kids who could get away with anything, because no one could believe anyone that beautiful could possibly commit such a crime. They not only took their podium, but a little over 1/4 of the council had Gn'hoth boyfriends or girlfriends in the visitor seats for podiums of their species. This was the core of Gn'hoth support, that often prevented the 3/4 majority needed to support a measure with certain success.

"Beings of the Galactic Alliance Council" started the Gn'hoth counsellor, wearing the alliance equivalent of a pinstriped suit. "We are gathered here today to judge the merits of the cease fire between the Gn'hoth Protectorates and the creatures" ...he used a tone of revulsion and derision on that last word…"from the third spiral arm. However, you can see the petitioners are not like you and me. I submit that they are violent, sentiophagous, rapists who attacked our peaceful worlds out of sheer evil. I call for an immediate vote to have them declared a non sentient threat and schedule termination of this species." The 1/4 the council allied with the Gn'hoth pressed their voting pads, red termination symbols showing above their podiums in the position for the first vote of the meeting.

Irol stood to speak. "Beings of the council, we have been asked to speak for the Earthlings, as they are not council members and have no voice here. We agree that we should have a vote, that we should present the Earthlings case to be declared sentient and admitted to the council. We ask that this vote be held as soon as we have presented their case."
On cue, Lurker said "Lurker speak". He was wearing a robe, reminiscent of an ancient order of monks that had a reputation for honesty and integrity.

The Gn'hoth counsellors whispered to each other and pointed at the Lurker, then "We object. If these creatures are sentient, let them speak for themselves. I call for an immediate procedural vote, waiving the necessity that speakers be council members. Do I hear a "yea" for assent?" Several of the Gn'hoth clique said "Yea". One said "But that's not the way he spoke when we signed the cease fire. This is a trick.", but he was quickly shushed and the counselor said "Motion carried. We postpone the earlier vote for declaration of non sentience and ask for an immediate vote to allow the Earth delegation to speak and petition for their own judgement of sentience." Several Gn'hothi laughed and nearby podia could hear the recording of the Lurker's inarticulate comment played out loud.

"We agree" said Irol, casting the Lepid vote, a bright green symbol appearing in the second vote of the day slot above their podium. 93% of the council voted to allow the Earthlings to speak, thinking there was no problem, before the Gn'hothi delegate made the signs that prompted their remaining delegates to vote against it. "The measure passes.", the speaker of the council announced. "The Earth delegation is allowed to speak and petition for their own declaration of sentience."

The Lurker's restraints were removed and he ascended to a speaking podium. "Thank you, Beings of the Galactic Alliance council, for giving me the opportunity to speak on my own behalf. But lets make this clear. I do not speak only on my behalf, but that of my people. All of my people." With that, he pushed a button on his provided remote and pictures of humans were broadcast to the holo monitors of the assembly. "I too, used to look like them", he made eye contact with humanoid members of the council. "And it is as one of them that I learned to use the weapon that was going to destroy our world, a genetic extrapolation matter generator. My form and genome were changed to what you see before you. With the help of the humans of our world, we were able to retrofit our own spacecraft to interstellar travel, leading to a war to gain our freedom, that has lead to this meeting. How could we do this, if we were not sentient? This hearing on our sentience and therefore inclusion into the galactic alliance is part of decisions that will be made in reference to the war between our world and the Gn'hothi. Whatever decision you make about our involvement in this war, let the fate of the people of my world be a separate issue. You do not just vote on those of us who have made the decision to become warriors to defend our world, but the innocent victims of Gn'hothi aggression." The Lurker kept showing images of humans, at their best, photos of families and children to draw sympathy, of buildings and technology to show intelligence and lastly, of the dead, victims of the giant spider attacks.

"We object!" Said the Gn'hoth counselor. "We have evidence the accused do not think like us. Here is the data from brainscans showing the accused are nowhere near the mental capacity of humanoids." He downloaded documents to the board. "We present evidence from our own analysis of the accused's sentience".

"Beings of the alliance, I have suspected this presentation" said the Lurker. "And I present my own documentation and witnesses".

"We have evidence to believe that the brain scan data has been falsified..." Gamlis began but was quickly interrupted by a, "That's ridiculous!" from a Gn'hoth supporter. "Regardless," Gamlis continued, "sentience is not defined by brain scans nor by technological advancement. For example, here is a member of one species whose sentience has been conveniently overlooked, allowing for their brutal exploitation.

Here, Mmmbar took the podium. "Please state your name and species," Gamlis requested.

"M-my n-name is Mmmbar, we don't have a proper species name that we chose for ourselves, we are simply referred to as 'Bovines' by our Gn'hoth slavers and by the rest of the galaxy." Mmmbar spoke, timid under the glare of council.

"You are a sentient race enslaved by the Gn'hoth?" Gamlis asked.

"Yes."

This response raised an uproar as cries of "preposterous" and "it's not intelligent, it's been trained to speak", among many others abounded, prompting the speaker to call for order.

"This creature's 'supposed intelligence' is irrelevant to the current discussion," the Gn'hoth councilor argued.

"Oh, but it is," Gamlis countered, then turned to ask the speaker, "permission to continue my line of reasoning?"

While he was wary that this was potentially a time-wasting and irrelevant topic, the speaker of the council was intrigued and let Gamlis continue.

"Thank you," Gamlis said, then turned back to Mmmbar, "It seems that the esteemed Gn'hoth are unaware of your sentience, is this true?"

"No. Our masters know our intelligence very well," Mmmbar answered in a pained voice.

"How do you know that?"

"When they...torture us, they ask us to...plead...to say their names...to call them master...they use us as more than just livestock. They train us to be sex slaves, often as maids, and teach us skills that can only be learned by intelligent species."

"Hold on," the Gn'hoth councilor said, "this creature's 'testimony' is all well and good, but where's you're proof? We can't just take the word of a creature whose sentience has yet to be verified."

"I had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but there is evidence. The content is shocking and unfortunately necessary," Gamlis said solemnly before bringing up on the council holoscreens the videos of how the Gn'hoth treat the Bovines that Lurker had provided. The videos elicited gasps of horror from some of the members, but showed clearly the Gn'hoth addressing the Bovines in ways that recognized their intelligence.

"Your point is...?" The speaker asked finally.

"My point is that the integrity of the institution of sentience evaluation has been compromised and that an independent investigation into the validity of past and currently pending evaluations needs to be taken. My point is that concerning evaluations of species that the Gn'hoth interact with, there has been corruption and conflicts of interest. The earthlings have shown enough of their culture as evidence of their sentience and the evidence of Gn'hothi treatment of the Bovines has also not only demonstrated the sentience of the Bovines, but theat the Gn'hoth knowingly enslave sentient races," Gamlis concluded, watching the council devolve into the chaos of raised voices. Looking around, he saw many of the insectoid races he had contacted, sitting quietly, pragmatically pondering the situation. Whether they had evolved from hunters or from social hives, they relied on their hunting instincts or their socialized strategies to determine the most opportune moment to strike.

Every insectoid in the room heard the Lurker, very, very clearly, but no humanoids were aware of the cacophony of pheromone languages shouting in scent around them. Canine and other sensitive races could smell the pheromones, but not translate them. At best, they thought the insectoids had chosen a bad time to become flatulent.
"Be patient," said the Lurker, as the insectoids sat quietly. "Be ready to strike and quickly, but this is a war of words first and claws if needed. The humanoids outnumber us and show us little respect. Let us fight on their terms, show that they have lied. If we play the Gn'hothi game well, they will attack first, possibly striking against council humanoids. How much respect will we gain, and they loose, if we save the council from the Gn'hothi? How much more will they seem like animals, and we as civilized, if we minimize deaths, even among our enemies?"

Gamlis' podium was far from the Lurker and the insectoids. Only now did the scent reach his antennae, and the Lepid enclave looked at the other insectoids, understanding.

Suddenly a commotion in the hallway. "Chancellor, a troop of the Earthly insectoids has arrived with Gn'hothi …allies? They say it's vital they speak to the council", said a guard.

"But necessary.", said the Lurker in the nearly flawless galactic common he'd been using to address the council. "Beings of the council, I have invited members of the Gn'hothi underground, rebels who abhor the treatment their government gives less advanced species, scientists who admit to falsifying judgement of the intelligence of the Bovines and many other races, population biologists who have recorded the extinction of two intelligent species under Gn'hothi rule. All this information and these informants were discovered in the few years of this war, the hard part was keeping it hidden so the Gn'hothi couldn't assassinate our witnesses and destroy our information. You can take a few moments to review the evidence if you like, but I maintain that this is direct evidence of our sentience, else how could we have done this under the very noses of the Gn'hothi and their allies? Therefore, I request a direct vote on the sentience and inclusion on the council of Earthly Insectoids and humans, followed by a review of evidence of genocide on the part of the Gn'hothi and their allies".

The council room erupted in so much shouting it was unintelligible, every kind of organism on the council was standing and gesticulating while observant species noticed that all the insectoids were standing at attention, ready to act if needed.

"Order! Order!" shouted the Chancellor. "This is highly irregular…", the Gn'hothi smiled as he spoke, thinking they were getting their way. "But the accusations are so serious that they have to be heard. Allow the witnesses and their guards to enter and take seats in the witness stands with protective shields up. They will present their data to the council, but not to Gh'hothi allied members and it will be catalogued and recorded. We will not base our judgement solely on the words and evidence presented by the Earthlings, but will establish an independent investigation of the accusations. In the meantime, a preliminary analysis of the data, where it came from, the nature of the evidence, evidence of tampering, should be available by the time all witnesses are seated. This will not be conclusive against the Gn'hothi, but if the Earthlings can gather or even falsify that much evidence and orchestrate it's delivery to the council, even under orders from others, their intelligence is unquestionable. We will vote as soon as the preliminary data is collected and inventoried."

The wasp-women filed in from the hall, high heeled claw/stingers clicking on the metal floor, making sure they were between the witnesses and the council members. Many carried pieces of metal as makeshift shields. The Gn'hothi witnesses were nervous, and made sure to stand behind the wasp women. The Gn'hothi delegation looked more and more nervous, recognizing scientists they'd hired to lie, children of politicians known to stir up trouble, members of GETA (Gn'hothi for the Ethical Treatment of Aliens) and others in a position to gather and blow the whistle on the same kind of information the Lurker claimed. The shields wouldn't be put up until all witnesses were seated. Beads of sweat formed on the foreheads of the Gn'hothi delegates and associates, until someone decided that they couldn't risk the witnesses testimony.

"Traitors! TRAITORS! FIRE!", shouted the leader of the Gn'hothi delegation as they drew concealed blasters and began to fire at the witnesses or the data recorders. While many of the council guards were complacent, never dreaming that there'd be a fight in the council chambers, and more were facing the wasp women, convinced any attack would come from them, even some of the guards were suspicious enough they were ready to return fire. The insectoids however, had been waiting for this, anticipating it since the Lurker's speech.
The wasp women protected the witnesses and data, mostly successful at using the makeshift shields to deflect the blaster bolts, but several were wounded or killed in the barrage. The Hive-minds of Arkon 4 appeared to be normal insects, but they could join separate nervous systems at the antennae and in their thousands mimic the function of a single brain, long enough to program complex actions when they split up. They had crawled unnoticed under the council seats, getting close enough to attack first, after programming themselves to claw out the eyes of any Gn'hothi they encountered. Soon over ten Gn'hothi were writhing, screaming on the ground, blind. The Lurker ripped the duralloy table near him out by the bolts and used it as his own shield. He leapt to interpose himself between the Gn'hothi and the witnesses, the table proving a very useful shield, and began to spit aphrodisiac into the eyes of the female Gn'hothi, who were blinded, then more obsessed with fucking the Lurker than fighting.

(good show on the legal defense. Care to bring the fight to an end. Bring it to the Gn'hothi in chains, & I'll pass council judgement, thanks)

When the fighting started, Gamlis ducked behind his podium as he was not much of a fighter and hadn't brought any weapons. He also didn't have any natural defenses like some of the other insectoids. Meanwhile, the Gn'hothi were being taken down by the insectoids, guards, and any other delegates who saw the Gn'hoth attack as a violation of council law. The combat was exacerbated by several non-Gn'hothi delegates 'defending' their Gn'hothi boyfriends and girlfriends, but they were soon subdued. Gamlis licked his palm and started pulling out a thick, sticky strand of silk to provide a quick solution to tying down the renegade Gn'hoth delegates. Soon medical teams had arrived to treat the injured, the Gn'hoth were tied up and corralled in the middle of the council chamber with guards standing over them.

The Chancellor surveyed the damage, while aids fluttered about him like news bringing moths to a light. "Sir there were 13 dead and 27 wounded severely", "Sir, the remaining Gn'hothi ships are evacuating the ship and retreating. The insectoids are in a fleet of small fighters asking for permission to stop them", "Sir, you have a message from Gn'hoth Prime. The Leader says…"

"They are deeply sorry but the perpetrators did not act under orders of the Gn'hothi Government and their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the dead and wounded", interrupted the Lurker.

"Um…yes, almost verbatim" answered the aid.

The Chancellor fixed a cold gaze upon the Lurker. "I'm not sure if you're a hero for acting as fast as you ALL did (he raised an eyebrow) or if you orchestrated the whole thing."

"Chancellor, I find humanoids very predicable. They trust and like creatures that look like them, even to conflict between members of the same species with color differences, let alone to creatures who resemble things they fear. Would there have been conflict if we had not fought back against the Gn'hothi? A different kind of conflict. We pushed their comfort zone, we threatened to expose their dirty secrets and all Gn'hothi in the room reacted with armed attack in less that 20 minutes. ALL the Gn'hothi. Including the "arm candy" of Gn'hothi allied delegates. What are the odds of that unless all of them knew the secrets and had planted spies as the seducers? We found that because we looked for it. No one else looked because humanoids trust creatures that look like themselves and the Gn'hothi species have neotonic traits that humanoids instinctively read as innocent and childlike. If we hadn't provoked them by revealing their secrets they would likely have continued to enslave low tech races for another few centuries. And the rest of the council would have been party to it by not challenging it. Which do you find more moral Chancellor? Provoking conflict by exposing secrets that would have lead to the enslavement and extinction of many intelligent species? Or avoiding conflict by assuming that "low tech" and "not our kind" means "low intelligence? I offer an alliance of insectoid and humanoid. Propose sanctions and investigations and let the Gn'hothi continue to claim innocence while we build our defenses and investigate. We will listen to your findings in judgement but we will defend our allies from attack and set them free."

"Chancellor, news from the Gn'hothi ship", an aid ran up panting. "Their ship is disabled. Insectoids had been hiding in the air ducts and took over the ship with no casualties."

"Cockroach hybrids", said the Lurker. "They're very good at hiding. And the Gn'hothi Leaders just said they're operating in opposition to their government wishes".

"Take the weapons of the insectoids and the Gn'hothi, whom their leaders say are traitors. We have a lot of diplomatic talks ahead of us." sighed the Chancellor.

Gamlis approached Lurker, "Well, I had hoped it wouldn't come down to blood being spilled on the council floor, but the Gn'hoth have been exposed, and it doesn't seem like the galaxy will devolve into civil war. You've demonstrated...impressive planning and incisive execution. To be honest, it's a little scary and I wonder if it's because you're part insect or because you're part human. Either way, you're well on the path to being recognized as sentient and have dealt your oppressors a crippling blow."

It had been several years since the Gn'hothi attacked the council. The Lurker had given Koko a thorough HARD fucking as soon as negotiations had gotten far enough. Humans and insectoids had been recognized as sentient by the council and accepted as members. Several humans had joined the diplomatic team with the insectoids. Over time the conflict escalated. The insectoids and their allies initially sought to contain the Gn'hothi and free their slaves. The council investigated the matter and found it was far worse than even the Insectoids had realized. A total of 5 species had been driven to, or near, extinction, while 7 others had been bred as livestock and used for sex and meat slaves by the Gn'hoth and their allies. At that point the rest of the galaxy joined the fight, appalled in moral outrage at the genocide the Gn'hothi had perpetrated. With the aid of underground Gn'hoth and allied organizations that opposed the evil treatment of the other sentient races, those responsible for the carnage were segregated from their home worlds and relocated on the worlds they had helped destroy. Now the Chancellor stood to give final judgement.

"Beings of the Council of the Galactic Alliance, In the matter of the Galaxy vs Gn'hoth Prime, Orvix Prime and Ellos. We find the defendants guilty of crimes against Sentient Species. The first phase is the reparation of the victims of these crimes. All property build on the home worlds of those who have been wronged has been returned to the species who were wronged and they have been trained in the use of existing technology. The next phase is the punishment of the perpetrators, who have been returned to the worlds they helped destroy. The Council finds that the members of the Gn'hoth, The Orvicind and the Ellosians conspired to enslave and destroy the sentient beings on many worlds they helped created. Therefore, members of these species shall be taken to the planets they helped destroy and legally enslaved. They shall be tattooed with a mark of ownership and may be used as food or sex toys. So says the Council."

Over the tears of those who were just sentenced to slavery, the victory cries of the rest of the galaxy erupted in joyous celebration.

In the midst of the celebration, Maya made her way over to the Earth delegates to congratulate them. A few years ago, soon after the Gn'hoth attack on the council, Gamlis had to metamorphose for about half a year. After finally emerging as a sexy hominiform female, Gamlis underwent the tradition of choosing his new name, 'Maya'. After Maya was briefed on what had transpired during her transformation, Irol retired, Orita became the Lepid ambassador, and Maya became Orita's aide, while a larviform male joined as intern and to prevent Orita and Maya from reverting to a male state. Maya had been extremely busy helping Orita create legislation for this unprecedented turn of events as it turned out that Gn'hothi crimes were not limited to the Gn'hoth but included the Orvicind and Ellosians.

Being non-combative and low-tech, the Lepids did not engage in the punitive expedition that escalated into a rather major galactic conflict. At any rate, Maya was an ambassador's aide, and was not expected to fight. Maya came to realize that Lurker was not merely an ambassador, but the de facto commander in chief, world leader and representative of his people, a diplomat and a warrior, and that he often left the council for extended periods of time to fight on the front lines, only to return again with a progress report and new legislative ideas that would benefit the victims of the Gn'hoth.

Maya's admiration of Lurker grew; he was intelligent, strong, and empathetic. The changes that his arrival brought had slowly eroded away at the pro-humanoid sentiment that had permeated the council since it's inception. As a Lepid, Maya found larvae and insectoids attractive, but due to her species' symbiotic relationship with humanoids, she found humanoids attractive as well, so Lurker, who was an insectoid humanoid stirred up a strange sensation deep within Maya. Maya flipped her voluminous black hair and strutted over to Lurker.

"Congratulations. I know that no amount of victory or reparations can make up for the pain you and your people have had to go through, but I hope you can take solace in the galaxy-wide justice that has been done," Maya said. Things in the council were a bit tumultuous; with the sudden decrease in humanoid dominance, the insectoids were poised to become the next dominant force on the council, something many of the other races were apprehensive about. Lepids meanwhile could ride simply ride the wave as insectoids.
