The Hidden Town (9kirby99 and GeneticMess)

I'm relaxing in the train, somewhat bored as I play a game on my 3DS. I was moving to a new town. I had nothing with me...except a few personal things. Why? I couldn't tell you. But I knew that I'd find a place to live somewhere. I waited for a stop, running a hand through my blonde hair and adjusting my glasses. Wonder what I'd find...

Much sooner than Miles expected, the train came to a halt. Outside, all he could see was a thick forest...this couldn't be his stop. But the speaker soon blared, telling Miles this was, indeed, his stop. Maybe it was right past the trees...?

I blink a little. I get up quickly and climb off. I look around, venturing quickly to try and see where I was. This was a forest...the hell was I doing in a forest? The hell was a TRAIN stopping in a forest for in any case? I turn to get back on.

And...the train was already chugging along, seemingly already at the horizon. Good thing he'd grabbed all his things, at least. Twilight was quickly approaching, crickets were chirping...it seemed Miles would have to find where his stop was on foot.

I sigh a bit. Great. I turn back towards the trees. Surely there was a stop here for a reason...right? I head into the trees, curious as hell at this point. Surely there was civilization.

[GeneticMess]

At first there was trees, trees, trees, trees, MORE trees...and then Miles reached a clearing. He seemed to have reached a farm of some sort, with a cobble path heading in another direction.

The path was a great sign. Civilization! I quickly begin running along the path, eager to find a place to stay at the other end.

Houses line up beside the path, and Miles eventually reaches a plaza of sorts, with a fountain in the middle. He doesn't see anybody yet, but it feels like...he's being watched...

I blink as I slow down to a walk as I look around the plaza. Where is everyone? I feel...uneasy. I look around like I expect to be jumped and dragged inside somewhere for some ritual sacrifice to a long-dead pagan god.

After looking around, there's a cloaked figure walking on the path away from the fountain.Weirdly enough, the only identifiable feature they have is a short, yellow tail on their backside, limp like a noodle. Maybe they could be of assistance?

I notice them. Caution be damned, I had to figure out where I was! I sprint over, waving. "H-hey! You there!" I soon catch up to them with a pant. "C-could you tell me where I am? Where is everyone?"

She turned to face Miles, her face covered in the shadow of her cloak but still visible. It looked like she was...some kind of puppy? Her eyes lit up a bit upon seeing him, and her tail perked up slightly as well. "Oh, hi there..." The girl smiled gently. "Everyone's in the Town Hall right now...do you want me to take you there?" She offered, holding a hand...er, paw, to Miles.

I blink a little. Why was someone like this in a cloak? She seemed cute enough...unless the rest of her is hideous. I take her hand and nod. "S-sure. I'm Miles."

[GeneticMess]

She looked a bit happier at Miles' response, guiding him gently down the path and toward Town Hall. It certainly felt less barren and more lively the closer they got to Town Hall.

I follow, looking at all the people curiously. "What's going on around here, anyway?"

[GeneticMess]

She stopped at the door, turning to answer Miles. "It's the first day of the harvest season, and-..." She paused. "I'm sorry, I didn't even ask your name yet. What is it?"

I tilt my head. "I'm Miles...what's this about Harvest Season? And what would your name be?"

[GeneticMess]

She nodded. "I'm Isabelle. Nice to meet you, Miles." Isabelle smiled, opening the door and letting Miles see for himself. It seemed like some kind of grand banquet, and everyone there was also wearing a cloak.

I follow in, looking around a bit nervously. "...what's with the cloaks...?"

[GeneticMess]

"It's a trend, I suppose." Isabelle explained, not sounding too sure herself. Miles got weird looks from other town members, but no one spoke out really. Strange.
