Brand waved at Lissa.

"No worries," Brand said. "I've set things up so that our meal is at the end of our tour. I hope you'll like it. Shall we begin?"

Brand led the young student on a guided tour from the perspective of an artificer. He approached each artifact and display by talking about the sort of enchantments that were placed on the objects and the techniques used to make those enchantments. He went into the known histories of the various artifacts, though he trimmed things a bit for the sake of brevity.

Finally they came to a golden ankh about the size of his palm. It was detailed with small pictographs along its length, and was made of solid gold. Brand paused as he looked it over, remembering the adventure that he'd had to acquire it.
