Shanda looks to speak to one of the guards to ask what they're defending against.

Maia checks some arcane items with Bibli, the former looking to improve her mobility and the latter thinking about other metamagic rods.

Zephyr and Azura look to equip themselves with ranged weapons, Azura needing herself some sort of throwing weapon while Zephyr wants to get a composite bow.

Telly looks elsewhere for miscellaneous gear.

the town is on edge because there has been a massive invasion from dragonspawn of tiamat in the nation, with some potent leaders intending to claim this land for the dragon queen, and some bands were spotted not to long ago not to far away. the main army is still far out, but the nation is all preparing for war.

Shanda breaks the news to the rest of the party, saying that she wishes to help defend the town.

Telly decides to cast Augury, seeking to get insight whether it is wise to do so.

Zephyr gets her bow set to the strength she has during her rage, a +1 enchantment being sufficient for her. She also rids herself of a couple unneeded magic items. Azura finds an interesting set of items, purchasing the Cloudwalker Anklets to help with aerial foes. Since she has the money to spare, she picks up the Stormfire Ring as well. Zephyr considers going for a different theme than thunder and lightning, grabbing herself a couple of items from the Regalia of the Phoenix, in addition to exchanging her cloak of resistance for a vest with the same effect.

Bibli gets a Metamagic enlarging rod, knowing that the extra range will help. A ring of Wizardry would also allow her to cast a lot more low-level spells.

Maia first visits a few spellcasting services, consulting a caster to apply permanency to her Darkvision spell. Paying a little extra, she also gets herself permanent See Invisibility. Finally, she purchases an Incense of Meditation.

Shanda assumes the invaders could be law-aligned, given that they serve Tiamat. She adds an Anarchic component to her bow, not needing anything else.

Telly buys two incenses of meditation, planning to spend the rest for calling the service of planar allies.

they find that no, actively going out to fight an literal army is not a good idea. make purchases, move on, and take down bands they encounter sure, but theres more then 10,000 dragonspawn in the invasion and the party simply cannot handle that even with help.

Zephyr scratches her head. "Well, if trying to help fight back against the invasion is fruitless, we should look for frontiers or other points to attack. I know that escorting Amber's a priority, but warding off that demon is ultimately useless if Tiamat's forces laid waste to the land while we were focused on that.", she suggests. "Indeed", Bibli confirms, "Finding reinforcements in other areas will probably be our best chance dealing with a large invasion force." Upon hearing that, Shanda casts Lay of the Land again, making sure they can take a route that lets them avoid running into a large encampment.

In the meantime, a couple more unneeded items, primarily a good amount of wands, were sold for additional purchases.

Zephyr got Boots of Striding and Springing, not only make her walk faster but also adding to the speed of her cloak.

Telly puts on a Circlet of Solace to work with her healing as well as an Ironskin Shirt for a small amount of damage reduction.

Maia adds a second Orange Prism Ioun Stone to her, as well as a Necklace of Adaptation.

Bibli does not purchase anything more for the time being, instead going to a quiet place to attempt to study for an hour, allowing her to fill the spell slots her new ring provides.

"Are we going to press on right away?", Shanda asks. "I think with such a large attacking force, it will be important to find allies to help us take them on."

Amber replied that the reports they had heard was the army was all at least a weeks march away and that was from the edge of the kingdom, and this was nowhere near the main front that was where the kingdoms army was. they should stay at the inn tonight.

"Alright.", Shanda confirms, readying a room. Zephyr checks for a map to see if their route would eventually lead them that way.

it would. amber squirmed a bit more for telly before she came out to go to bed as tonight was zephyrs turn.

Telly lets her out, leading her to Zephyr. Shanda meets up with Bibli in order to plan out where to go next, which would most likely be the next city. Maia strolls around a bit before going in to sleep, slightly fascinated by her newly acquired darkvision.

The next day, Telly looks around town to see if they can rent a transport service somewhere as Shanda makes plans for the next destination.

Bibli finishes preparing spells - expecting to encounter the dragonspawn more frequently, she dropped the energy damage spells from her slots.
