The Internal City (Zephyr and sabrina_diamond)

"Yes please," Steph remarks as she has insatiable curiosity on just about everything the Mestrids are doing inside her body, "I would like to inspect your civilisation as it grows within me."

Over the next few days, the Mestrids build a station at the start of the intestines. From there, a few shrink down with a collection of supplies and are sucked into the bloodstream. After a few moments of mistaken direction leading them back to the stomach, eventually the Mestrids find their way into the womb. There they regrow and begin placing pillars in the uterus, causing it to stretch just slightly.

Steph senses the city growing over time as she smiles to herself, "It must be pretty busy in there, seems like the city is growing quite well..."

"It is," the operator tells her. "Just keep eating those cars and we should be able to keep growing." Eventually, the uterine framework is established, and the endoscope begins to take shape.

A beef burrito would slide down as Steph eats another lunch quite heartily, building a city takes a lot of energy as she can testify... "I can't wait to see the city when it's completed," she tells the operator

The city continues on, constructing more columns, now stretching up and down through half of the stomach. Meanwhile, the endoscope takes shape inside Steph's womb, sometimes twitching as the guidance system is tested.

Steph waits patiently as she watches the progress unfold as quickly as the days and hours fly by. Finally there was a long pause as one day, Steph responds with, "I guess construction is complete now."

The operator takes a few moments to respond. "Not quite," he says. "We just require a day off every once in a while to rest from our labors. The endoscope, however, is very much complete. We'll poke it out now." With that, the long coiled instrument inside Steph's womb begins snaking downwards, slithering of its own accord as the head peeks out of Steph's holy of holies.

As Steph eats a burger, she stares at the endoscope, "Huh, neat," she remarks casually, "I wonder what will happen next..."

The endoscope slowly slithers its way out of her neathers, pooling up until the whole thing is ready. The business end looks like a regular endoscope would: long flexible tube with a camera on the very end. However, on the other end is something like a tablet computer, with only one button. When pressed, the screen turns on, revealing a very clear picture of what's on the other end of the scope.

Steph would curiously press the tablet's button, wondering what she would see on the endoscope's screen. "Well, time to check what's happening," she tells the operator.

The endoscope's controls were a set of arrows on one side of the screen. The wand itself was flexible, smooth, and easy to get down.

Steph would peer at the endoscope curiously as she presses the screen, "Alright, I'm manning the controls now," she presses a few buttons as there would be a soft hum as she manuoevers the arrows around rather curiously. "I'm feeling really happy today."

Steph gulps down the endoscope shortly after it turned on, "Yes, I have," she responds with a muffled air at that.

The endoscope goes smoothly down the esophagus until it eventually breeches the stomach. Inside, there is a city made of pillars taking up most of the interior. Every so often is a pod with glass windows and a balcony around it, with ladders and bridges connecting the pods together. Furthermore, there are large bracing columns stretched in all directions. Down below, one particular Mestrid is waving up at the endoscope. "Hello," the operator says, his words matching the waving Mestrid's lips.

Steph waves a rather curious hello back as she is pleased to see the Mestrid's city for real this time, she couldn't have imagined that an entire city was in her bowels as she simply sat there, speechless at the very sight. "Wow!" was all she could muster breathlessly

"Wow indeed," the operator says. "Hard to believe we got this far in this short a time. But thank you for providing the building material. And for returning our wayward fellow. Anyways, we're about to start expanding your stomach. Are you ready?"

"I am ready," Steph confirms at that as she smiles meekly at the operator's reply.

The hum down below would be deafening to Mestrids. To Steph, though, there would only be a slight buzz as her belly started to expand (partly because the operator had switched off his radio).
