The Internal City (Zephyr and sabrina_diamond)

Steph would sit there on the grass, "Let me know when you decide to expand your city, but this hub of a city is a good starting point." Steph remarks casually, wondering about the bustling metropolis inside of her currently.

The Mestrids kept working as long as they had metal. The second raft became a garden where the soil was deposited. Here several Mestrids planted seeds containing things that would be useful. Above the first raft would be a dorm, at the moment empty. "We could use some wood," the transmitter told Steph. "And a good deal of fiber."

Steph trudges up to some trees nearby and starts eating the twigs off the trees, accidentally consuming some bugs from the trees as well as they were quickly processed by the gullet, the leaves scratching their way down her throat as she felt happy about the new development. "I think that's enough fiber for now," she considers, feeling butterflies inside her stomach, or is that just the wriggling caterpillars she devoured?

As the twigs, the leaves, and the bugs come down, the Mestrids gather what they can. The twigs are made into bedposts and the leaves into blankets and hammocks. The caterpillars... are mostly left alone. There's no room for them yet. Once the beds are completed, the citizens of the new settlement begin setting watches and work shifts. "Alright," the radio operator continues. "We could use that metal now, Mrs... I don't think we got your name."

"My name is Stephanie Tsunade, and you may use my whole body as your base, mestrids." Steph replies as she consumes some red toy cars for the Mestrids in her belly. "You're welcome!" She then eats some pink yoghurt and toast to aid digestion.

The toy cars are quickly extracted before they are broken down, and the metal is cast into more buildings, residences and gardens, though one is made into a town hall. "Well, thank you, Stephanie," the radio operator tells her. A passing Mestrid then borrows a sheet of metal, working on painting it with dye in the yogurt. "We will try not to get in the way of your body's normal functions. And we hope that we aren't causing your stomach any trouble."

"My stomach is used to visitors, so I'm sure it's coping fine with all of you inside there," Steph responds lazily as she has little idea of the development the urban Mestrids are conducting inside of her form. As she daydreams, she goes back inside and sits on the couch.

The Mestrids at the radio shared a look at each other. "Is that so?" the operator asked. "I suppose that's believable, given it can handle metal and stone." Then the group looked up. "And how much can your stomach hold?"

"My stomach can house a massive population of inhabitants," Steph responds, "But if it gets overpopulated, your Mestrids might have to move to either the large intestines or the womb for the other districts. The Mestrids can also use gondolas for the bloodstream."

[Zephyr42]

The Mestrid nodded to himself. "Thank you for your permission," he told her. "We should have enough to build in the stomach, though. At least for the moment." Indeed, the pillar for the radio room and the dorms was reaching taller and lower, and soon formed a pillar between stomach ceiling and floor. It was soft on Steph, but tight enough to prevent the fledgling town from moving too much.

Steph would wait patiently as the heartbeat resounds slowly.

More rooms are added, another column stretching up and shoring up the second set of buildings. In addition, siding and tunnels were added around the boats, making man overboard scenarios less likely. "Well," the operator tells Steph, "we're making good progress. If you wouldn't mind performing a stress test, that would help us test our architecture."

"Alright," Steph notes to the engineer Mestrids, "What do I have to do for the stress-tests inside of me?" she asks patiently at that as she hums softly

"Nothing much," the operator told her. "Flooding, G-forces, stuffing. Feel free to add anything you might do in the future as well: we like to be prepared."

Steph would pause before grabbing some cold coffee from the kitchen sink and gulping it down, "Coffee incoming, along with a custard doughnut later on," she tells the operator, "You Mestrids best be prepared for the food flood later on!" she giggles sweetly, always a fan of sweet foods in general.

The operator nods, even though Steph wouldn't be able to see it. "Thanks for the warning," he told her. "Though if you want to run surprise inspections, that would also be welcome." The rush of coffee pouring into the stomach causes waves and raises the fluid level a bit, but the platforms rise with the stomach acid and coffee without any problem. The Mestrids themselves carefully and slowly got into the covered parts of the city, bolting the airlocks behind them.

Steph nods after a few minutes as she devours the custard-filled doughnut next, enjoying the texture of the pastry with a short nomph sound as she slowly devours the dessert. "Surprise inspections? Do tell me what you mean exactly by that?" she asks the operator with some bated curiosity, even headtilting mildly at the operator's message. Since she had just drunk coffee earlier, she was in certainly no rush to do anything else.

As the people were already indoors, there was no real threat from the doughnut. "Just that," the operator said. "Eat something unusual without telling us, stuff yourself full without warning, basically take us off guard."

Steph would eat some toast as she gulps the toast down hungrily, "This is delicious," she remarks casually to herself.

[Zephyr42]

The toast doesn't catch the city off guard, and they remain in their modules. "We're curious," the operator started, "how would you feel if we gave you some of the food we produce here in addition to your normal diet? As repayment for your hospitality."
