The Internal City (Zephyr and sabrina_diamond)

Steph would think at that, thoughtfully munching on a custard-filled bun as she gulps, "I would like that," she adds rather quietly at that.

The operator snapped his fingers and motioned to the garden dome. In response, several Mestrids sped over to it. "It'll be a while before we can produce anything substantial, but it will be done." While the stomach was still not full, several more enterprising workers were working on another raft, which would evolve into a warehouse.

Steph's stomach would gurgle emptily as it awaits more meals, but the Mestrids were hard workers and soon a warehouse was built on the stomach lining.

The remaining metal was moved into the warehouse, and work started on another dormitory directly above it while the city waited for the next big test. "I wonder," the operator asked, "since we're using your stomach for living space, is it alright if we use your womb as a workshop? For bigger things?"

"That's perfectly fine with me," Steph adds with a relaxed tone.

[Zephyr42]

"Good," the Mestrid tells her. "We'll get to work on that once we've-" With that, the signal suddenly cuts out.

Stephanie wonders why the signal had cut off and says "Hello? What's happening in there?" she asks the operator in a worried tone.

[Zephyr42]

A few moments later, the operators voice comes back. "Apologies," he tells her, "we were trying to make a radio but somebody didn't say when they were disconnecting the line to you."

"That's alright, I'm just digesting a brownie in the meantime." Steph blinks her green eyes at that as she hears an ongoing rumbling noise from her wide girth.

[Zephyr42]

The operator looks up and around at the rumbling. "Are you alright?" he asks. "All of our changes have been to the device itself. We shouldn't be causing irritation."

"I'm fine, I'm just eating some desserts," An eclair would roll down towards the stomach.

[Zephyr42]

The operator pauses as a tidal wave of stomach acid heads his way. "I see," he says as some of the pastry culprit drifts by. "Well, the radio should be ready. Reinforcements for the city should be on their way." Indeed, a few minutes after he says that, a squad of twenty Mestrids come in visual range of Steph.

Steph eyes the twenty Mestrids with much wonder as she strides up to them before greedily gulping them down with a pile of scooped up dirt. "Delicious," she proclaims

The Mestrids are quickly retrieved and put to work finishing the second column. Meanwhile, a framework is being laid down for future columns. "Well," the operator asked, "I think that's all the questions we have for you so far. Do you have any for us?"

"Not many so far, although I'm interested to see how far the city progresses," Steph nods cheerfully at that, "So, how is construction coming along?" she asks the operator as she is curious at the Mestrid's advancement stage.

[Zephyr42]

"It's coming along well enough," he tells her. "We're starting on the third column now. Though I'm curious, do you mind having your stomach bulge out once we're done? We were thinking of stretching it out to get more room."

[sabrina_diamond]

Steph nods serenely at that as the Mestrids would see her movements, "Yes, you have my permission to do that." she tells the operator as she blinks while watching tv.

The construction thus continue over the days, occasional requests for metal coming up the pipe. Thus, more pillars are formed, stretching from ceiling to floor of the stomach. Eventually, the pillars stretch out all the way through the organ, and horizontal pillars start to stretch the stomach walls, causing a minor bulge.

Steph's stomach seems be be stretching nicely thanks to all of the internal extensions in there so Steph rests a lot in the meantime, not expending her energy.

Every day, the operator gives a report on the Mestrids' progress. Eventually, he gets an idea. "Would you like to see what we're doing?" he asks. "We should be able to construct a camera for you to see us with."
