Moving slowly closer TJ's face split into a wider smile. Pleased to see that the feline seemed to be calming down some. At least enough that it's fur was laying flat and it wasn't snarling at him anymore. He still continued his slow, careful approach. Not wanting to agitate the feline or give him reason to feel threatened he took his time slowly moving closer. A part of him had to wonder why the cat was so agitated, and more so why he felt a strong compulsion to try and approach this feline. Most all feral creatures he met he wouldn't dream of approaching them like this. There was just something about Rusty's eyes. A strange, clear glimmer of intelligence there. Like there was just a single barrier to them understanding each other...
Moving closer the white human male did notice the claws still unsheathed, the definite danger that posed; but continued his slow approach nonetheless. Sure that if he didn't make a rapid movement, or worse try to flee, that he probably wouldn't get attacked. Slowly reaching his hand forwards TJ let out a small gasp of alarm at the sudden snap of those jaws at him. Drawing his hand back swiftly out of reflex the human let out a small sigh, relieved that he still had all his digits and wasn't harmed. His smile turning a bit more sardonic he chuckled "Not eager to let me touch you? That's ok, I don't have to." He said simply, calmly. Not knowing if the cat understood a word he said, but hopeful that his calm tone would come across sooner or later.
TJ was pondering sitting in front of the cat to attempt to stroke his paws when he distantly heard the sound of muffled thumps, of muffled shouts of fear and alarm. Blinking curiously he very slowly leaned to the side. Slowly his eyes widened, seeing the large and quite clear bulges in the cat's stomach. The more he stared the more certain he became that those bulges could only be, other people. Actual humans in that stomach. "Wait, did you... do you... eat people?" He asked with a tone of some shock, disbelief, in his voice. Finding it difficult to think that could actually be true!
Though those wriggling bulges were undeniable, and the cat's apparent disinterest in the struggles equally clear. Hesitating, chewing on his lip in thought an anxious few moments, TJ slowly began to step around to the side of Rusty. Making slow careful sideways steps to put him out a bit past his shoulder. Slowly he approached around his side, stepping towards that stomach. Feeling his heart start to pound, his eagerness building. "Man, if you actually DO eat people... How, really incredible, awesome, that would be..." He breathed out "Especially, alive..." He whispered with even greater excitement. Moving perhaps a little faster than he had been earlier out of his excitement, though he maintained a somewhat slow approach. Again starting to reach his hand out towards that wriggling stomach, the 'lesson' Rusty had tried to impart earlier already forgotten in his amazement and building excitement.
