I can never seem to get wet textures to work, likely not selecting the right options, same for tranlucent materials been using the glass option for that
still great looking work as always

Re: CakeInferno's boxroom of sub-standard 3D mediocrity
Thanks so much guys, I'm happy you like it! <:
Wet textures are usually simulated by lowering the diffuse light a material receives and cranking up (small index) specular and reflection. Translucent materials can either be achieved by subsurface scattering or turning up the ambient lighting for the selected material, ideally in the material's base color. Of course SSS is a lot more sophisticated looking, so I usually recommend using it if the render budget allows it.

Yare yare, Cake. You have such high standards. In a community like this, quality may be better than quantitiy, but there's no point in witholding anything.
Good idea to space out releases, though. Zoey's looking great!

The croc one is unrefined, but I'm still in love with the tongue on that one.
My only complaint in general is that the darker parts of both videos are VERY dark on my screen. Almost impossible to see stuff like the Mii at the very back of the throat. I don't usually have a problem with that, but I have experienced that with one or two other people who have their color balance set much brighter.

Hmm... I'm almost certain that has something to do with either your video player or screen settings, especially since there's not even filmic tone mapping or black crushing used in the second video with the Mii. It should be perfectly visible, even if you're using an old CRT monitor. I can assure you that I carefully calibrate brightness levels and do proper tonal correction, furthermore my screens are very well calibrated. I'd suggest downloading the video and playing it back with a player like VLC that uses proper scaling. Eventually check your video card settings, might also be that there's a third party h.264 decoder installed. If the video appears much darker for you than the preview screenshot, then the later is likely the case.

You've come so far. *cries* It's been a privelage to watch you slowly perfect your models and see the emerging details as both your skill and confidence has grown.

Well dang, you're right! I opened it in VLC, and it looks proper now. Okay, yes, ditching dumb ol' Windows Media Player for good now Thanks!

Haven't tried Sketchfab, but not really planning on using it since the work I do here should likely stay within this community! Also thanks so much again! ;-;
@MrPerson videos in WMP are usually very dark, yeah! I'm not sure if they finally adjusted the levels there in Windows 8/10, but the one Windows 7 uses is in constant night time mode. Big fan of your work by the way!

Thanks Phintal, it's slowly being finalized!
Rendering of the third and final pass was done yesterday, from here on it's all sound work! In the meantime, here are some preview renders and a gif!

Wow!
Do you actually do 3d animation professionally, or is it just a hobby for you?
