Always takes forever animating two characters, which is the secret reason I often go for POV. In this one whatsoever there's actually not a single POV shot! The animation is about three minutes as well! <:

Very nice Can't wait to see it! I wish you ease with your soundifying, I know that's always my least favorite part of animating. x3x

It looks fantastic, can't wait!
(Also I personally really like POV, but there just isn't a lot of good POV stuff out there, so that's why I was really happy to discover your animations. <3)

Thanks so much guys! And these usually take way too long. Often months when I consider how long I worked in the model and environment, especially since there's still a lot of experimentation involved! <:

That's fine, really. I mean, if someone's prey, isn't PoV the ideal?
And no matter what, people like more content.

Thanks guys! And well, since there are many people with observer/pred preferences as well going third person is likely the best option to please everyone!
Here's another old test sequence that was done to test the model in combination with photorealistic lighting. I quickly abandoned the idea as the lighting renders these semi realistic characters in a quite uncanny way. Furthermore the render time went through the roof, which is the reason why there's no realistic hair/fur to speak of here! Some of these animation sequences were reused in later films though. <:

Agreed, POV is really nice for the immersion, but a nice, simple "blank" character serves nearly the same role, and (at least IMO) there's some really nice aspects that are kinda tough to see from the prey's perspective.
Also, that lighting looks really good! I agree, it looks strange with these characters, but if you had more realism-based models for that, I'm sure it'd look amazing. That would be heading off in a whole different direction though, and the semi-realism scenes are a little more fun (again, IMO). Those warmer red tones you usually get with mouth details especially - in your other renders - are really nice, too.

Re: CakeInferno's boxroom of sub-standard 3D mediocrity
Thanks you two! And yes, I highly prefer the semi realistic style as it's common in modern animation, in fact it's a general rule not to blend cartoonish characters with hyper realistic rendering methods. I see a lot of 3D vore work with super realistic lighting and rendering and the majority of it looks uncanny to me. While I could go a lot more realistic with my own rendering methods I highly prefer not to and keep the semi-realistic look.
In general I think it's not so important that something looks realistic, but rather that something looks good. (:

If only Pixar followed that advice when they made The Good Dinosaur, lol.

Their characters still looked cartoony enough imo, agreeing that the environments looked almost a tad too photorealistic though!
