To op, it really isn't about the tool you use, it's the effort you're willing to learn to use what you have. Proportions are the main thing all artists need to learn to do as well. I've seen a sizable amount of artists that only use mspaint and a mouse, and they make stuff way better than I can.

Yeah, there was a tutorial that Very had posted a long time ago where he or she explained how to do a MS Paint drawing mainly out of the freeform selection tool. I can't find the tutorial in the gallery anymore, but I'll at least link to this so that you can see what kind of styles it can result in.

I saw it shortly after you posted it, and I enjoyed it for what it is. However, I had and have nothing much more to say about it than to repeat myself about getting a gallery instead of posting it to a progressively longer and longer thread that people tend not to search through once it gets too long. If you want more frequent feedback on your works, your best bet is to make that gallery and upload your works there.
