I can get the game to run on vista; but when I create a character...

I get a Error in 'CreateFromFile' function
which leads to...

Run-time error '430':

Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface.

Can anyone help with this?

I was able to get vore rpg to start, but it won't let me create a character. It says, "Run-time error '430': Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface." If it is because I need the program in the second link, can you tell me what the program is? It was deleted from the site.

I'm having the same issue too, I've tried updating all the things asked of. I even looked around to try to fix it myself, but so far nothing has worked.

(Run-time error '430':

Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface. )

When I click on the linked files (for VRPG), I get a "file not found" error. Could you update the links, please?

I searched for the file, and then when I found it copied into my VRPG folder, as if that would somehow help... Unfortunately the File-Upload page linked in the first post was removed so I don't know how to 'register' it...

Anyone have a solution?

"create from file function" error and the 430 error.

Any fixes out there?

Having already searched around this particular sub-forum in hope of a positive solution myself I'm afraid the answer appears to be "very no." It seems that the error stems from how Vista handles DX9, because from what Daum has said the line causing the error is otherwise perfectly functional. Additionally, the documentation for DX9 from a development angle would seem to be, to all practical extents, non-existent, which would make fixing the problem extraordinarily difficult at best.

It's not so much that there's no documentation for DX9; it's that there's no debug support for DX7, which is what the game uses, and Visual Basic 6 can't use DX9.

I looked into upgrading to .Net, but as it turns out it would be more work than actually writing the game over again.

Just signed up on the forum to add my two bits.

One, I'm also having the stated problem in Vista

Two, I can't seem to get the DMC2.ocx file to register in the beta of windows 7, whether that's a problem with windows or with the ocx, is impossible to tell.

Its not that easy, because the current versions of the posted patches sometimes dont fix the problems properly anymore. I am still working on it.

Well, there would be an always working solution, but its more like a workaround than an actual fix...

Amanda, is there another place where we can download the second part of the solution. The link :(http://www.file-upload.net/download-204 ... g.exe.html) doesn't work in that the site seems to be saying that it (the file) is gone... I'm not positive what it actually says, but is that what you meant when you said that the current version don't fix the problem anymore. Anyways, thanks a lot. Your instructions so far helped me at least start the game before there were errors.

I'm gonna just try to download it on the XP in the living room. I'm reluctant though cuz it's a family computer and it only has 512MB RAM.
Anyway, if you find an easier workaround, please tell me, I don't want to download anything that's gonna completely reconfigure my computer...
