It's hard af to see but indeed that does changes everything. I don't know what it changes, but hey it's nice that they put details in the throat, let alone draw the uvula.

While not what I would incredibly detailed, uvula shots in hentai are definitively above average in details and are close up but they also only last a second or fewer. And they're being pounded on by goddamn dicks Uvulas deserve more innocent appearances

That's something I've noticed as well.

While a good part of it is probably because animators are lazy / on tight deadlines and have better to do than draw detailed mouths, I feel it's also because detailed mouths have a sexual connotation that would feel out of place in all but mature/ecchi/hentai anime, much to our chagrin.

That's reasonable, but it doesn't have to have to sexual connotation either as uvulas can be very moe. They could appear during yawns and screaming where it would realistic to show up and without much suspicion. Then again, calling it nodochinko (translate to "throat penis") certainly don't help at all, Japan
