Both of these conditions are really easily medicated...like ridiculously easily medicated and there are hardly ever side effects or issues with dosage. This isn't one of those #mymedicationmakesmemiserable type settings, BUT this doesn't stop society from making a huge deal out of it anyway. Predators and Prey both wear symbols that have to be easily spotted to indicate what they are, effectively ruining their privacey and causing normal people to either act extremely hostile to them if they are predators or smother them and treat them like delicate wallflowers who can't handle themselves if they are prey.
In between all this you have prey who don't care much for life and predators who don't care much for society, likely as a direct consequence of the afforementioned shunning and smothering. With nothing else to turn to many retreat into the deadly pleasures of their condition seeking out death or victims. Which in turn comes back around and leads to people with the condition trying to live normal lives getting treated like the people who end up in the news.
In the midst of this setting, I was thinking of focusing not on the deadly or suicidal people, but on a predator and prey character who were friends when they were younger until their respective conditions tore them apart who meet later in life and have to navigate overprotective peers and strangers in order to have any time together. Effectively leading to shenanigans. Where all these two people want to do is catch up and be friends again but people keep trying to "save" the prey character.
