Being turned into poultry

Here's a neat little idea I came up with. A character comes across a witch, and offends or otherwise angers her. The witch retaliates by casting a spell on them, turning them into a duck. The witch then tucks the duck under her arm and takes it home, with the intention of fattening it and cooking it.

I keep tellin' ya to stop annoying those witches until you have a high enough Fortitude save to shrug off those baleful polymorph spells, but do you listen to me? No-o-o…!

Real question thought. Why not just turn him into poultry immediately. It would no longer require upfeeding and upkeeping cost and will prepared quicker.
