A few engine demo screenshots

Postby deleted188 » Mon Apr 17, 2006 10:25 pm

Decided to post some screens of the engine in action so you guys can see at least what it looks like right now. The player model is just a generic stock elf. and will most definately not be in any playable version. At the time I took the screens the test server was at night, so bear with me :)

We might have elves if it fits in, but it will be a lot higher poly :) I think we are aiming for contemporary computers that are recent back to a year or two ago in age. The engine uses DX7 right now though so it is only slightly dated, but in an MMO, super graphics can mean huge expenses for servers.

Maybe take a lesson from the Guild Wars design. They seem to be doing well. But good luck on being totally free...

Well I am going to try my best for it :) most of those games need some serious servers and a lot more than one. They get a ton more traffic then I am expecting, I do not think that this will get thousands and thousands of people :) . Plus those are companies, they make the games to make moneys, and making people pay for the servers not only takes care of overhead but also gives a heck of a lot more cash. Those games like World of warcraft could easily have the players paying 1 or 2 dollars per month and still get by easily but instead are usually between 10 to 15 :)

Yeah, I've been wondering about the engine. What is the engine? I've been assuming that you are not going to be working from scratch because that would of course be a little silly.

Gnomes are funny.

What Francois said summed up my queries quite well, so I don't have any more questions.

You do make a good point about the MMO game Kaliera, if its not free then its not to much of a problem though Vore only appeal to such a small crowd even though there's like 1000 of people that look at it only a few are willing to go online just for the vore. I do like the progress your making with the game Kaliera an know it will do very well...I'm looking forward to see how its going to look like once its finished
