I'm going to sound dumb, but I played the game and I only get arena and forest as the places to go. Where is the village, or has it not been implemented yet?

Minor update available on the downloads page, tweaking some mechanics that I'm still not quite satisfied with and adding feral wolves to the forest. It will break your saves. All updates that change certain things will break your saves until I fix the save system, but luckily there's not much to get invested in so losing saves shouldn't hurt too badly.

FlowingFireAndIce wrote:What is request and requested for?

'request' is an interaction with the creature if you eat it. I'm not sure if I mentioned this because I always knew it was the case and somewhat stupidly assumed everyone else would too, despite it not being in any way apparent, but if you click on the 'Stomach' label/bar/meter thingy it allows you to interact with whatever you've eaten. Whatever text appears when you interact with it and it's still mostly alive is defined by 'request', whatever text appears when you interact with it and it's mostly dead is defined by 'gurgled'. 'requested' is the interaction with the creature if it's eaten you and you struggle but fail to escape.

There's a noncombat adventure in the forest with a lost village boy that gives you a map to the village, although the already unimpressive village is even less impressive what with some of the changes I've made recently. The village is probably next on the list as far as things that need to be overhauled go. It's a little boring at the moment.

Do you have the latest version of Java (https://www.java.com/en/) installed? Are you getting any error messages? What operating system are you using? I need to implement better error handling to make troubleshooting easier.

Sorry about that, I probably should of said the stuff that I had. I have the latest version of Java, with no error messages. It starts to load, but then stops. I'm using Windows 8.

In that case, try this and see what (if any) error it gives.

I got no error when running the jar, and when I opened the batch file as a last effort, it just couldn't find any command, internal or external, named Java

Ugh, well, that's what I get for half-assing the error handling. I've updated the program to hopefully write an 'errorlog.txt' of anything that's causing it trouble.

Im running the latest game on win7 and it wouldn't load for me, the process would end as fast as it started. I had to open it with firefox, save the file it gave me, THEN run the one it gave me, then it worked <.>

I tried running the debug version of that, and got this error in the log.

Also had a 'null point exception' error come up whenever I try to access the forest. However, the normal non-debug version of the game works perfectly fine for me without visible errors.

That is possibly related to the null pointer exception I intentionally introduced (and may have forgotten to take back out) to test the error handling code on my machine. If so, the latest upload should fix it.

I don't have a Forest.vgp file to look through, and im looking to create another area to explore. I need to put my freetime into something and I wouldnt mind adding a valley with some random chance of finding a chest, or loot stash and a few monsters of varrying difficulty... though I don't have any examples of anything other than a arena :c

There is like 3 versions the game...if debug is the one that has the "errorlog.txt"..then what is the difference between the other 2?
"voreadventure_004_0" and "VoreAdventure_12"?
By the way what should i do specifically if I wanted to add the stuff fom "unzipme.zip" to main game?
I hope I don't sound demanding lol

There used to be samples of every kind of custom content, but I removed them all because all of it changed. Fortunately, areas are the only bits of custom content that HAVEN'T changed, so I'll attach the old example desert to this post. Any external custom content that it references has been removed/outdated/made obsolete, though.

Fake Edit: I have to rename the file to .txt before uploading it, but the extension for a custom place file is .vgp.

I'm going to stop linking directly to files in my posts because then when I upload an update or whatever, the links still points to the old files and causes a mess. Look here for the latest downloads. For now, only use the debug version if you're encountering errors.

By the way what should i do specifically if I wanted to add the stuff fom "unzipme.zip" to main game?

The game creates a folder in your home directory (usually something along the lines of 'C:\Users\*username*\' for Windows). Unzip 'unzip.zip' to your home directory and the custom content will be added to the game.

I hope I don't sound demanding lol

No worries, mate.

To encounter a custom monster, you must add a custom area that defines hostile encounters with the custom monster.

Thank you :D I already have a load of content planned out. Getting it down while trying to write and manage a job is going to slow it down.

Hello Everyone, almost 3 months of inactivity in this topic. I tried to PM the author ( I_Cant_Write ) but haven't got any response, so ...
Anyway - I'll go straight to the point. I want to do some mods (monsters & places) and post them on FA (Also linking to here ) And I was wondering if anyone want me to update their monsters to work on the last version of the game and pack them into a pack that can play every monster (on the arena by default, unless you want other place) ... I already have some of them with their original text but some missing fields.

Anyway - I'll post the link (or the text files depending on the situation ) of the results here as well.

Okay, since I like girl on girl vore, I wanted to make a scenario where that would happen.

I can create the monster okay, but...

Well, here's what I did.

I used the Arena.vgp file.

I changed the parts to where it says

2.0.0

FightHungry Girl [
type:combat;
enemy:Hungry Girl;
describe:true;
chance:1;
];

and saved it as Ruin City.vgp

which didn't work (but it DID add it to the list on the right hand side), all it does is slightly widen the screen.

Then, I did this

2.0.0

FightHungryGirl [
type:combat;
enemy:HungryGirl;
describe:true;
chance:1;
];

removing the space between Hungry and Girl, and still nothing.

So, I don't know what the deal is.

If anyone can assist, appreciation would be given. Merci!

Postby Cogo » Sat Aug 15, 2015 11:42 am

try adding the "title"

On example of mine

DrunkenFightLion[
name:FightLion;
title:Go talk with the lion;
type:combat;
enemy:DrunkenLion;
describe:True;
];

^I notice that it follows a strict structure^
My suggestion would be like this:
FightHungryGirl [
name:FightGirl; <---whatever you want, will only be used as reference for other adventures.
title:Fight The Hungry Girl ; <----title, also whatever you want
type:combat;
enemy:HungryGirl;
describe:true;
chance:1;
];

From there it should be gold, please,Tell me if it works
