Now there should be no more need to bump this thread anymore, and if anyone has suggestions, bug reports, comments and so on, know that this game is for all intents and purposes dead and anything said is unlikely to be read by the dev. Unless Regen for some reason reappear after being offline 2+ years.

Not without permission, and you should know how most people look at people trying to rework something without permission. Seeing Regen2323 has not logged in for over 2 years actually getting permission is pretty unlikely either way. No "if's" or "whats" or "why's" about it because Law.

actually as this is a none commercial product and he left the files open permission is implied. Also the gone for two years means that there is no way to secure it.


This all said it would be easier to just remake it from scratch which would not require permission as this is not a copy righted work. You can not copyright an RPG maker game unless you A have the commercial version and B are selling it for money. (its in their EULA)

Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong(?).
1: It's not based on the product being free, but the development software. As in, the eula does not allow games made with a pirated version of rpg maker. (In this case all protection would be void and game would be free game, but how would we know if Regen2323 used a pirated version or not?)
2: Berne convention gives limited copyright protection to a published product the moment it is published, based on the country the publisher lives in, as long as it was published in a legal manner. State (free/commercial/unencrypted) does not matter.

From what I can see, that gives explicit rights to publish a game to one who has fulfilled registration of a proper copy of rpg maker, and only them for their own published game.

Berne Convention article 2-1

...exclusive rights of authorization:
- the right to make adaptations and arrangements.
- the right to make reproductions.

A snippet from the berne convention documents, which I assume is the most relevant here. Again, the article does not state if it's exclusive to commercial or non-commercial, which makes it quite sure it covers both.

Bottom line, since files are unencrypted you are free to VIEW them, but making changes is still a no-no (exception, unless eula or tou for a game states otherwise making changes exclusively for personal purposes is "ok" but sharing is still forbidden).
Now, please stop your "files are unencrypted so it's free game" advocating of abandoned games.

hey guys i know this is a long shot but does anyone have a copy of the game save at the part just afte curing the plant girl of her poison. basically i got an error since my power went out as i was saving the game ><

@nouvi, it easy to tell a pirated copy in rpgmaker go to the data and see if anything is in japanese if it is congrats pirated copy. (you would be surpised how many games here are made on a pirated copy, this one is not though).


also remember this is an asset flip the only new content in it is dialog, regen there for can only have the rights to the story, a rework would require reworking the story invalidating that stuff.Something to remember unless a game on this site uses its own assets like photo manipulations, custom sprites, or bought sprites it is an asset flip which is just base content reworked and their are no laws protecting them.


Anyway this is all pointless, the game is open I mean litterly open the EDITOR IS STILL ACTIVE, it is not hard to remove the editor and lock down teh files in RPG maker, unless you have the free ware version or a pirated version which have said option locked. (and in the free ware version you can not copy right the game itself but you can copyright and assets you made).

Also this is all hot air, as I doubt anyone here wants to rework an old game, seeing as most want to make their own or just want to play the games.

This version actually takes less space than the last one I got (1.5), Regen2323 must have optimized it quite a bit with the final release.

Iirc, once you do some favors for the sisters in the large mansion, they will let you look through their library. Check the bookshelves and Eve will learn the spell.

Sorry for the necro bump but can someone help me. Where do you use the hidden area key you get for giving the Naga the flame sword? Also where is the cheating girlfriend quest I am almost at the end and haven't seen it?

Another question f someone could please answer. I can't find anything in the lawless zone. I saw the woman eat a few people then she goes back to her house. I can't find anything past that. I don't know if my game glitched and I am stuck or if I am just missing something.
