Well you have to get the rope before you can go down there. You need to head up and examine the tree holding the bolder on the screen north of you. Use a bomb to drop it and continue upwards solving puzzles until you get the rope. Then return to that spot.

When you get to the title screen is it Milly there or does it show Tasha and Tezla? If you don't have a save file from your chapter 1 paythrough it always starts you at the beginning of chapter 1.

If you downloaded the recent file it shouldn't need the update. When you extract the file though you should see a folder name. If the extracted folder is named "data" for example you would copy and replace wherever that folder appears in the folder tree.
