Here's the log after I tried to compile all of your edited scripts, using the compiler you had packed in, with the "Getsex = " tags removed. some of them compile. Some don't. I know the "TIF_" ones don't need to. Only the ones with "Getsex" anywhere in the psc need to compile. Many of them say "No output generated. Compression failed." Not sure what that is all about

Worth noting is I had to shorten the log to get it into the character limit for posts. The three names I keep seeing over and over on the logs are :

devourmentnamescript.psc
devourmentregistryscript.psc
and some other third one about scaling

Aside from that a couple of the other .pscs are failing and it doesnt give an indication as to why

This is caused because you didn't have Skse scripts on your scripts folder. You have the original ones withoutthe extensions. I wrote some instructions explaining how to manage dependencies. I don't know if it was clear enough.

I'm leaving this here so anyone else can try too.

All the Pex/psc files with anything related to "getsex = 1" which is the tag in the script codes that make it to where specific actions are only allowed if the character(player or npc) is female are here on this list:

In 1 or two of them "getsex" is disguised as "PredSex"
All you have to do to allow for male preds in most cases if the script is to be believed is to add a space plus "||" next to the 1 in "getsex=1" and then put another space followed by a 0.the " || " stands for "or"

"0" in regards to "getsex = " is a male character. I'm having trouble compiling them now but i remember back when I last tried to alter this mod that I used the skyrim creation kits compiler.

Fun fact: devourmentteachscript.psc(or .pex) is the part of the script that teaches you a Shout in order to devour someone and apparently you learn this from somewhere. The code is written such that wherever you learn it from, if you are male, you take a massive amount of damage and are pushed away.so not only did the creator not want you to have the power as a male character, he also wants you to die.

Also, in order to compile anything with this mod and have it work, you need Ski_configmenu.pex and Ski_questbase.pex. The package that KongP0w has for download does not have either. You can obtain both from SkyUI's .BSA file by downloading this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4804

What I've done is just put all of the Sky_ui pex files into the devourment "scripts" file. This fixed the problem entirely regarding supposedly "missing files" with the compiler and the skyrim creation kit

Edit: I have 8 of the 16 edited Psc files compiled successfully but I'm not sure if they run correctly because I can't get the other 8 to compile correctly. I've tried multiple times and put all of the sky-UI pex files into folders when I tried to compile them but it didn't work.

I'm going to note here that, based on my understanding of copyright laws, you may not reverse engineer, reproduce, distribute or modify somebody's intellectual property without their permission.

This means that Bethesda can use your material however they like but as far as I can tell they don't sublicense it to users of the Creation Kit.

What this all means is that the code belongs to Vegan and unless you get permission from them or Bethesda you cannot legally make a male pred version of Devourment by either using their code or though reverse engineering their code. If you decide to do it anyway I'd recommend not posting it, as then there's no proof you've done it and I doubt anyone will care.

But it's just males, so who cares, right? If the gender roles were swapped in this mod, people would be raising so much Hell, then they'd likely get their way in the end.

Justice will be done. I'm cross referencing a previous version of the mod that was made by someone else that allowed for male preds perfectly and have found that a great deal of the scripts in the newest version were left completely untouched. What this means is I could just take the pex files from the previous version of devourment and place them over the pex files in the new version 100% no problem. This means I actually have more files compiled correctly than I thought. Things like VoiceDevourmentscript.pex have already been done for me. :-D

GUYS!! Massive Success! I've compiled all of the scripts successfully without any of the "Getsex=1" functions. All I need to do now is alter the dialogue and swap some skeletons and the mod should definitely allow for male preds. I'm so excited! Extensive testing is on its way. I'll keep you all updated.

Damn right. I did however promise I wouldn't release a build of it here if I ever figured it out though. Teaching people what I did once I have everything together though is a totally different story. this way anyone can edit this mod to their own tastes privately and no one has to throw a temper tantrum.

Edit: All the scripts work as I expected they would. I have all the powers and even the perkmenu that once said "Males do not receive devourment perks" functions just like the females. I get all of the dialogue options and everything. the one problem I am having is that the skeleton for males doesnt function properly and so swallowing someone/getting swallowed doesnt work well. the person will flash orange and the gulping sound will play but you wont teleport into the stomach. Instead you'll just be reset to starting position with the person you tried to eat unable to walk away from you. If anyone would know how to make the female skeleton compatible with males, this would be a done deal for good. I can post a video of what happens if you guys want

Ok so what i've found with the skeletons is that following the skeleton tutorial Sideromelane posted sadly doesn't do anything still(either that or there's something crucial I am missing).

What I did was I took the skeleton_female and Skeletonbeast_female nif files. and copied the devourment belly onto where it was supposed to go. I am using Kongpow's packed devourment mod that comes with all the addons and I am unsure if that has anything to do with it but what I do know is that the branches in nifskope in that list of instructions isn't right.

For skeleton_female.nif, the sequence of branches(NiNodes) you need to expand on in order to find NPC Spine 1 is:

0 - 5 - 10 - 11 - 15 - 422 - 423 - 428. 429 Ninode is NPC Spine1 [Spn1] [46]

If you open 429, you'll find 763 NiNode which is Belly; under that, 764 which is HDT belly, and then 765 which is NPC Belly which is the Branch you supposedly need to copy and paste onto the skeleton you want to make work with Devourment. I used the supposedly male skeleton found in the mod, added the stomach from the female skeleton, and then overwrote the male skeleton with the new belly node added.

You could be using a skeleton I never tested it with or is much newer and therefore has different numbering. Some common sense might be needed to get it precisely right.

I know it does work, I've literally done it dozens of times. I did used to have screenshots of a male character sporting a belly but I can't find them on my computer any more.

after hours of trying to crack away at it, I still can't get it to function as it's supposed to with male preds. I've followed the instructions to the letter. Copied my xP32MSE male skeleton and put the Belly node from devourment's female skeleton onto NPC Belly and then put the new skeleton into Devourment's "Character assets" file before installing the mod with Mod Organizer. Nothing came of it. I dunno if I'm just stupid or what but I even tried with 0.65c just to see if it was all the extra stuff packed in with Kongpows version that was making my attempts fail but, it wasn't.

If anyone else would like to try, PM me. I'll give you the Pex files I changed that allow males to get the powers and perks. The dialogue options arent there because you have to remove the "GetIsSex" conditions from them in Skyrim Creation Kit and I dont wanna bother if I can't get the core function of the mod to work properly, but everything else is perfectly accessible.
