has to do with the new way of handling actors in tiles having some teething issues regarding defeated or removed npcs. also there's some issues with my refactoring of how i've laid out my conversation asset files. but i really can't fix this till after work, so update coming much later today.

So yesterday I updated my nvidia drivers. Nothing seemed wrong as triggering nomad from the eclipse debug mode continued to work fine. Then I tried checking out 19C to make sure it worked from its compiled jar and...

on the plus side at least I now have a chance in hell of debugging it. And now I can confirm for evilpancake and RistinRitarit that the problem is an incompatability between the latest nvidia driver and the lwjgl engine...which I will endeavour to cure...or maybe future updates to the driver will unfuck the pooch on this.

in other news. Update out that may have fixed some of the issues reported by runoff.

edit: update. I have figured out what is needed in order for nomad to work on the computers of those with the latest nvidia drivers.

Another crash whenever you try to leave the derelict ship, and very often when researching.

Is there any way to scale the mountain on the starter planet btw?

yes there is. and i dont suppose you can give me some error logs for these crashes? i'm fairly sure I remembered to turn the logging on with the last release.

1. the error logging has been in nomad since the engine supported vore war, so it predates nomad. but i sometimes forget to turn it on for release cause when in development I like the errors to go to the debug console.

2. DAMNIT! the reason it crashes on cleanup is cause the map of the derelict isn't square..and the code in question assumes the zone's height and width are the same...This is a noob mistake on my part. fix coming tomorrow probably.

3. I don't like to give away secrets like that, but if someone else wants to spoil it i won't stop them.

As much as being trapped on a ship with a horde of ravishing and monstrous herm aliens with ravenous cocks probably appeals to people I probably shouldn't make it something that you're stuck with.

And unrelated. For those curious currently in the next update will be:
A rework of the seduction move, where you can use perks to improve it systematically.
player as pred cockvore (i have 3 of the initial 5 scenes written)

things I also want to be able to add to the next update:
cone attacks, radius and sweep attacks so the player can better deal with multiple foes.
power attacks, cause i can cheaply do it as part of the logistics of implementing a spin attack so why not.

What would others want to see in a future update?

Well this greeted me at the mountain, when I did the most straight forward thing. Thanks for the hint though, I would not have figured that one out.

You have goldharpy misfiled under the other alien world rather than free like the program tries to reference, that ones just a misplacement.

huh. Well, fixed that. I admittedly should of restructured the file layout to start with. as this has led to a fair bit of mayhem by re-categorizing all the files on a per location basis.

Making the Raijin crash the game actually took a bit, as oddly, the Raijin suddenly began to kick my ass like a disgruntled neckbeard and his aging Dell Dimension. Here we are though, one research crash. as of 19E

The creatures on the derelict in their research entry seem to indicate they should be unlocking a recipe, but I haven't gotten one even after multiple hit and runs bringing them back aboard. Does crafting score affect what you can see to craft?

Also, starting a new game on these new builds is spawning me in the lizard village with no ship or pod

Edit: Also, even with the F update, Raijin research still crashes with the same error text.

2xedit: Also, sorry for throwing all of these bugs at you, but at this point its actually just rather enthralling to watch the game not work, and then your code resolving why and how you guys update to account for that.

Also, goldharpy is still not referenced properly, the conversation file doesn't search in the folders, just the upper level category for conversations in general.

at this point this has happened so frequently I should just have it in the FAQ 'if you find yourself with a new release suddenly standing somewhere that is not the escape pod this means that the developer has forgotten to move the start.xml values back after some testing, again' I use the start.xml file when I want to quickly get the player to something I want to test.

why did i set the sodding recipe unlock to use the filename explicitly?! anyway I did, and so I set it to unlock the filename. works now.

Eh the bugs need to be squashed so its kay.. and who are 'you guys'? this is pretty much still a solo operation

this is because the gold harpy you have has been initialized from BEFORE I changed the npc definition. you'll need to blow up alpha minoris IIA and have it regenerated before you can see that she now functions as intended. to blow up a planet, save the game, close the game, go to the save folder then delete the relevant .sav folder for the world, then open the game and load...preferably do this while not standing on alpha minoris IIA as being on a planet that's annihilated can be deleterious to your health.

Starting a new game with this build then, to see how good everything is and making sure that I don't have any lingering dirty scripts from old versions on my saves. Out of curiosity, are the... special events with the named pedestrian raptor girl randomized? I have no luck getting the last stage to proc.

Out of curiosity, are the... special events with the named pedestrian raptor girl randomized? I have no luck getting the last stage to proc.


no, they're not. but they might have a malfunctioning LUA script that prevents the last stage getting triggered. first I've heard from a player about this.

So, couple of things here.
First, not sure if it's the same issue as Qwaar's but I'd assume so, after the first two 'sessions' with said raptorgirl even leaving the zone or resting doesn't make her 'ready' for the next one. I wasn't sure if it was just a lack of completed scenes.
Second, after the raptor 'raiders' started spawning in my game, they seemed buggy. I attacked one or both multiple times to get them to aggro for their scene, but results were mixed. Once, neither of them fought back, but they both seemed unkillable and the game crashed when I then tried to leave the zone. The second time, one of them did attack back, but when I got down to a third of my health they suddenly stopped, and moving toward them with my laser pistol equipped seemed to make a ranged attack on them even if they weren't close enough to bump into. That time, when I left the zone I went down to 0 hp, nothing would interact with me, and I had the red square under my icon that usually shows up for defeated creatures, though I was still moving around. I was able to replicate that just by doing the same thing again, albeit not every time. Once, the game crashed instead of doing that stuff though.

Lastly, and not bug-related. I really like the direction you're going with the perks now, the ranged seduce options are neat, though not being able to wear most armor without a penalty to it makes shooting stuff remain more attractive most of the time. Particularly on the derelict where those Z's can really swarm up on you the moment you make a wrong turn. On a more personal note, I seem to remember being able to get the CTF perk for free somehow, without levelling up... Am I mistaken?

huh, i accidentally put the seduction rework perks in a release? well, i'm glad they work as I wasn't sure they were ready for primetime and i was planning to hold off for update 20 on showing those. I'm glad you like them though.

Suri's script that checked the condition for the last stage was broken. I've fixed it now. update coming.

as for the raiders. well, when it crashes I need an error log. Until then I guess I will have to teleport in and antagonize some tribal warriors to see what happens.

the ctf perk requires a level up and unlocking the zetamorph pedia entry, though seen as only zetas can be CTF'd its of limited utility till more CTF for the player is written.

Yeah, I would've grabbed the logs but I couldn't actually consistently replicate the crashes from the raiders. The first time it happened I didn't save them because I thought it was a fluke, the second time I was trying to investigate the other issues I mentioned, and wasn't really thinking about the crash logs. Sorry about that.

Any way to get rid of a penis? Was playing around with the god save, but want to try unbirth aswell, but cant unlock it as long as you start with a penis.
Nothing better than a warm, spacious womb to rest and relax in.

currently? no. in alpha 20. yes. but you don't need to be sans penis, just need to be has vayjayjay, and there is a mutator for that.

also...have to chuckle at the fact this is an actual legit game question.

fixes:
suri's third script that checks conditions for entering stage 3 referenced scale coverage 3, when 2 is what stage 2 leaves you with, fixed.
saurian raider conversation had xml errors, fixed.
raiders were sharing the same patrol script causing them to zoom in on the same location, fixed.
raider patrol script was disrupting their combat routines, fixed.
zone regeneration was not properly taking into account empty npc references when handling actor in tile (major issue if the zone contains spawners, like the battlefield does), fixed.

some scenes aren't done being written in this version, you have been warned.
