Your Dl-Site password. It's a DL-Site login screen that pops up. Once you filled it in you don't have to worry about it anymore. However it is still the Startup.exe.

I still carry a copy of the old version that did not have that weird form of DRM, not that I will share it without a very good reason to do so.

Pirating software is forbidden here anyways, so you aren't even allowed to link any version of the game here unless its the official link.

But yea, you have to start the game using the startup.exe, which checks your login from DLSite first to make sure you did not pirate the game.

I usually don't condone piracy, but this game is complete garbage when it comes to DRM.

I couldn't play it anymore when I upgraded my video card. So you know, screw off then lolz

I had that weird thing. Then I restarted my computer and it went away.

Of course, that's after I put in my DLSite stuff and let it do its thing. If you didn't let it do its thing, you may have to redownload?

Of course, it could be a localization issue. In which case I remember a very good thread in this section that showed you the steps needed to play Jap games. It includes changing your computer's regional settings to Japanese.

These are all the tricks this old dog knows. *shrug*

Also my Startup.exe once wanted to update itself, but this update broke it...
So you could try to unzip the whole thing again and not update the startup thingy.

I did put in my password but it still wouldn't work.

Did you re-check the password and username by logging into the site? Additionally, remember that the credentials you use have to belong to the account that downloaded that particular copy.

Maybe. Probably. >.>

Okay I got did what you said but now its saying that its unable to validate security engine [ErrorCode: SAK1018-10-1111]. Is there something that I need to change in my laptop or download something to help run this?

Sorry, I meant it has to belong to the account that purchased the original copy. I.e. if your bud bought the game, then you have to use your bud's login.

Though you shouldn't use your bud's copy because that's dishonest. Putt'n that out there.

Now if it's unable to validate security, make sure you're redownloading it from DLSite, not a mirror or a reupload, or even transferring from an outside device like a flash drive. Do it all official-like, go to your account, your purchases, and download it from the site.

Once that's done, you should unpack it and try to run it again, using the same credentials you logged in with to download it. This is the only way to get it to work without an authentication error.

Though, if none of this works, try to contact DLSite. Fairly sure they made the authentication program, they can probably point you in the right direction or give you a workaround. Though you might want to contact Camel first and make sure that's what yer workin' with.

S'all I got.

Attached my save. Only cleared easy mode on it but it's enough for what you ask for even if it's not a '100%' save. ...hopefully it works anyway.

I usually only pirate stuff if the only ways to get it is far above market price or is otherwise unavailable, or is old software that might not work on a newer os even with compatability. I mean there are ways to get old software to work on newer os but sometimes theres nothing that can be done, especially true for dos games.

As for milia wars i played a little bit of it but didn't like it too much do to its difficulty in some of the later levels.

Thats why there are multiple difficulties and chars. Lets be honest, you can clear the game even in hard with the bunny and her guns by simply jumping and running away the whole time. I personaly enjoyed it much, the is challenging, but not in an unfair way. Kinda like Dark Souls. Just with more vore.

Ah, everything hard is compared to Dark Souls nowadays. And I would agree if the gameplay was in a "If you die, go back to a checkpoint and try try again" style, but if you die here, you continue from where you died, given you have lives to spare. So it would be more related to the source game this is based on, Metal Slug. That game was pretty hard, only because you die in one hit from everything, but you'd respawn right where you died. Even if you lost all your lives, if you used a continue, you'd still be back where you died.
Here, it's the same, but since you have a health bar now instead of insta-dying, if you lose all your lives and continue, you start from the area's beginning instead. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to throw the little factual knowledge I have out there.

Man, I've played the demo to this game like five times over the course of it being released. The mere demo is so damn good.

Purchase it if you have the means. It only gets better.

I picked it up as soon as it dropped, and I still play it occasionally. :-D

Yen conversion is pretty simple. 100 yen roughly equals a dollar. So if you have 2000 yen, just put a period in the middle and you have your cost. $20.00 in this case.

... I don't purchase from English DlSite. :| I have no good reasons for that.

Just wanted to post afix that worked for me in a variation of the "startup.exe won't run" problem. I was extracting the files by making a new folder, in Jap locale, antivirus disabled and renamed parent folders and all moontalk therewithin. Startup.exe kept giving 'Error Code: SAK ---' type errors.

Fixed the problem by just extracting directly into the folder that contained the zip file (so .exe and .zip were in the same directory). Not sure why, but it ran after that. : ) ) )
