What's shaking, you bunch of screwed up individuals? You ready for yet another subpar RPG maker vore game like Hero's Re-Gulp-tion and The Chosen Ones? You bet your ass you are!

So, I was sitting around the other day, and I started thinking about Hero's Re-Gulp-tion and how enjoyable it was to make that game, and I thought about how I've been trying participate abit more in the community recently, and I decided: I'm gonna make another vore game. I know I said I'd moved on to bigger and better non-vore projects, but I just had to revisit the vore RPG genre. I'm gonna be making the game with as much effort as I've put into my main non-vore project(http://www.indiedb.com/games/the-daria-chronicles), so it should be better than my other two attempts at vore games. I'm also gonna focus more on fleshing out the world, and less on making it just bland vore scene after bland vore scene. I will be reusing assets from Hero's Re-Gulp-Tion(cause I'm a lazy asshole), but I will also try to use new assets as well.

Story:
You are a young male human living in the town of Alryne, in the country of Lacha. Lacha, as well as the rest of the world, is inhabited by a mix of human beings and creatures known as "Devoratores" or "Devourers". Most of these "Devoratores" are female, and most of them have the ability to swallow a human being whole.

You've always wanted to be an adventurer, and your dream was strangely strengthened after your father, an experienced adventurer in his mid-40s, was sadly eaten by a dragoness while out on an adventure. After that, your mom became very protective over you, and proceeded to never let you leave Alryne, out of fear that you would get eaten just like your father. One day, you decide that since you're on the brink of turning 20, that you should finally be allowed to leave town.

You get into an argument with your mom, trying to convince her to let you go exploring the nearby mountains. After some time, she reluctantly agrees to allow you to leave and go exploring. Ecstatic, you rush out and head straight towards the mountains, with the full intention on exploring them. Hell. Maybe you'll finally get to meet a devoratrix face to face.

It doesn't take long for you to get ambushed and knocked unconscious by a hungry orc girl, who plans to eat you as a light snack. She is scared away, however, by a little goblin girl, who wakes you up. Terrified, you spring to your feet, weapon drawn. The goblin girl reacts, startled, and then slowly lowers your sword. She explains that she has just saved you from getting eaten by an orc girl, and after abit of introduction, she asks you to escort her to a nearby city in order to meet a friend. You start to refuse, but then feel a warm feeling inside, and agree to escort her. Will this prove to be a good idea, or will you become just another bowel movement for her?

And the first demo is OFFICIALLY RELEASED. It contains two vore scenes and lots of references to vore. Plus a few easter eggs(okay, one).
Go nuts and eat on! :gulp:

The demo doesn't exactly have any RPG gameplay (There is one battle, but the enemy is a human assassin, not a predator or anything). There are only two vore scenes in the demo. One is when you first meet Ella. There is a 50% chance that she'll tackle you and eat you after you put your sword away, and there's a 50% chance you'll get a normal non-vore introduction after putting the sword away. Then after Ella and Cerys talk, an assassin comes in and it activates a battle. When you defeat the assassin, Ella eats him, and then walks away to lay down and digest the guy. There will be more vore scenes, though. Just in later versions.

Thanks. Since it's 50% chance, you may end up needing to try multiple times. I wanted to give the player the same uncertainty of what would happen as the protagonist would have in the situation.

Played the demo, feedback time.

The font used it hard to read at times. Not impossible or anything, but it really shouldn't be hard at all. I'd recommend using a more standard font; having an unusual one doesn't really add anything to the give.
The opening text dump, while nice and short, is unnecessary. Generally, you don't have to the introduce the player to a game's world this way; they will learn what the world is like through playing, and probably very quickly. Hell, the first spoken dialogue of the game establishes that this world has monsters which eat people, which is all that that text dump really tells the player anyway. I recommend just dropping the text dump.
The music is general is great. Chill, atmospheric, pleasant to listen to. Well done there. The music on the overworld is too quiet though.
I feel like the player should be able to walk in front of those dressers on the right in the starting building.
The writing as a whole is pretty good too. Not perfect. Ella feels a little bland, but it's good.
You can leave the area where you meet Ella by going up - but you can't re-enter it from that side.
Speaking of sides, you can mess up the bit with the orc by reading the sign from any side but the front.
The epilogue text crawl thing after Ella eats you is a nice touch; I'd love to see you do that for every vore scene.
Ella (or a sign or the MC's inner thoughts or something else) should really tell you where Hwen is.
Cerys says 'shinner' when I assume she means 'shiner'.
After beating the assassin, Ella walked through the wall in Cerys' kitchen, rather than going up the stairs. Not sure if it's something I did, but it happened.
As for random events like Ella's 50% of eating you, just, try and warn player to save before triggering them. Getting a gameover that isn't your fault is a frustrating thing when it makes you lose progress cause you weren't expecting it.
And lastly, the final text crawl for reaching the end of the demo misspells 'grammar', but I suspect that may have been on purpose, as a joke.

-I figured that font would be hard to read. I just set up a hobo event in which you can choose to give him money, and it specifies how much money you'll loose(1 Silver piece) and it looks like gibberish. I'll probably bring in the font from The Daria Chronicles, cause that's a good fantasy font.

-The text dump is a habit I'm trying to quit. I'll remove it in the next version.

-I've changed the overworld music to a more energetic, louder song.

-Passability issue. Fixed in next version.

-She'll get more fleshed out as the game goes along. At the beginning, she's not really trying to become too close with the protagonist. She'll come to like him abit more as they go after Vincent Crash.

-Whoops. I'll have that fixed in the next version.

-The only exception will probably have to be battle scenes, since they have the epilogue in text boxes mixed with dialogue.

-Yeah, Probably should've thought about that. The description for the quest even implies that the protagonist has no idea where Hwen is.

-Typo. My bad.

-That scene was kinda glitchy when I first set it up, but now I've streamlined it abit more.

-Yeah, I can see where that could be frustrating.

-The misspelling of "grammar" was not a joke, sadly. I caught the error after I had already uploaded the demo. Not like it affects it that much, though.

Thanks for the feedback, man! With how complex this game is gonna be, I'm gonna need all the help i can get.
When in doubt, conquer Poland.

Trying to write a holstaur defeat vore scene, but as usual, RPG maker doesn't want to co-operate, so the "Enemy Transform" command WILL NOT change the holstaur to the battler with the belly. As you can probably guess, I'm a little bit salty over this. It worked fine, and then I experimented with an in-world scene, and now the battle event WILL NOT fucking work. I'm abit PO'd. :x

Instead of using the transform, can you create a second battler on top of the first that covers the first so the player can't see it anyway?

None of the battle commands work. I think the script I'm using to allow the post-battle event to take place is disabling the battle commands, since the battle is technically over. No enemy transform, no enemy appear, no vore. But, I'm using the exact same script I used in Hero's Re-Gulp-tion and it worked there.

I'm using a "custom" ruby engine(16 scripts installed) that I didn't use then, so maybe that could be it. I'm gonna go through my scripts and see if one is conflicting or something.

EDIT: None of the scripts are conflicting. The game just refuses to change the holstaur into the one with the belly.

Okay...
Way to little to give any real feed back on the story so I'll stay clear of that
The day night cycle seems a bid too fast especially since it need to be day for most interactions inside Hwen.
If possible a way to have a chat with the people in party and maybe some non-fatal vore scenes in you do those for those interactions (depending on whether it fit in with the world you are building).
And in my opinion the menu is bad... might be the font might be the rearrangement of the options, might just be me being irrational and not likely it be cause it is different, can't say for sure, just that I don't like it.

Well, I plan to have a "Good/Bad Standing" system where your actions and choices determine how Cerys and Ella look at you. Get in really good standing with them, and you may just find yourself in bed with one of them. Get really bad standing and you may just find yourself in one of their guts. I may have to search around for follower interaction scripts, since the followers in RPG Maker are just "ghost" sprites that aren't attached to events. I may have some optional non-fatal vore scenes in the game, just depends, but for the most part, the game world is built around getting eaten as being the end of the line. I'm experimenting with time systems, so hopefully I can fix the day/night cycle issue. I'm still trying to figure out the problem with vore scenes in battle and why they won't play properly.
