My advice there, Richard is to start wandering around, it'll let your soul crystal grow, once it hits 100% go into the school at NIGHT ONLY, and at maximum size [do not use the syringes to shrink or else the hole will NOT appear]

You assuredly do not need 100% soul crystal. It appears rather regularly at night in the school completely independent of crystal %. Just need to be sure you're at max size is all really.

I did manage to find her after getting the crystal to 100%, and the quickest way to raise it is to literally run back-and-forth through the hideout entrance, (you get 1% each time you walk through the doorway)

Max crystal isn't required, as has been said several times. The problem is the hole is randomly spawning, not that it spawns under certain criteria. Enter the school at max size, check the classroom, and if you don't see it leave and re-enter. It took me a few tries, but it does show up under 100% size.

go to the roof, and there is a vine ladder you can use to get back outside the mansion

Does anyone have any tips on how to rapidly drop your crystal percentage? It seems to grow much more quickly than it falls, I've had to repeat the Sabrina UB about forty times now just to get close to going back to the other world

The best way for this is to repeatedly lose to the random girl's on the map, you drop like 6% top 9% every time you lose.
