SlaveGirls Rising

Postby KavenBach » Sat Dec 23, 2017 3:59 pm

December 23rd, 2017

Good evening!

Just in time for Christmas, I have completed another installment of SlaveGirls Rising.

What is SlaveGirls Rising?

Why, it's the sequel to Helpless Heroine, of course! Except that this one features *slightly* better graphics and is being made using RPGMaker VX Ace. That's right, I finally graduated passed the original! Heh. Got a lot of complaints over that for HH; guess I was behind the times even several years ago. Heck, I probably will be, again, since now RPG Maker MV is out. Guess we'll see.

Anyway.

The story so far:

Alanna, a SlaveGirl on the island Slavery Nation of Tagero, awakens to find herself in the Gauntlet, a lethal run through a, well, gauntlet, of monsters, by a group of naked SlaveGirls. Usually no one survives the horrors of the Gauntlet Run, and an audience of cruel male masters watch through a viewing crystal as one by one, or in groups, the women fall in various unpleasant ways.

Alanna vows to survive, and together with a few other girls, puts up a fight such as has rarely been seen during the Gauntlet Run.

However, will she survive? And if she does, will the man who threw her down there, Master Marick, explain why he sent her to die after promising never to do so?

Featured in the game so far:

Like in Helpless Heroine, the game begins with combat and vore; as it progresses, more SlaveGirl themes come into play. This installment now includes the first transformation themes (petrification), with many more to come. This game is still in its infancy and I hope to work on it constantly to keep it progressing.

As with Helpless Heroine, I welcome feedback and bug reports! I may or may not alter the game's vision based on input from players, as well. This time, however, unlike Helpless Heroine, I have a Patreon account set up; any support anyone wishes to provide for my works will be very much appreciated. However, I will not be withholding the game from everyone else in hopes of getting more support. Patreon suspended my account after just a few months. I removed all offensive matter from there, so the game is now available in its most completed form... everywhere.

LATEST RELEASE: February 11th, 2024, 1.3.5b

Now, obligatory warning:

This game contains (or will contain) scenes of violence, rape, vore, gore, and a whole lot of fetishy themes, and the game itself will be mostly angled toward damsel-in-dire-peril situations. So far contains rape, hard vore, Soft vore, suffocation, strangling, decapitation, impalement, and rape-injected petrification and rooting and transformation into a bestial-minded rat-girl. As of Version 1.3.3a, transformations: gold statue, SlimeGirl, SexDoll, Marble Statue, Cow-girl, Plant, Mushroom (large or small).

Vore types (As of 1.1.7): Hard rat, hard Ratite (rat-men), soft oral giant rat, soft plant, spider wrapping, Slime absorption, soft giant worm, hard zombie male + female, crushing vines, soft snake, soft frog, dragon cockvore/insertion. SoftVored as SlimeGirls.

Most recent version, 1.3.5b: https://mega.nz/file/b10iwYDL#OdUMG60ne ... zVOVMSWMKo

Changes in this version:

(1.3.3) The game's storyline actually doesn't progress hugely from the last release, but I also spent a good amount of time adding some content in an earlier section of the game; MadBirdCZ showed me some Fan-Art a while back, and I just... couldn't... not... add it. Of course, I added a whole crapload more to it, but, yeah. Add to that the fact that my previous computer went defunct somewhat abruptly, and... things got delayed more than necessary. But, I'm really hoping to be able to progress the story at a decent rate now, now that I've created a whole bunch of the necessary character sprites for it.

I'm including a SaveGame here (The game now allows for up to 128 save slots); this savegame will allow you to head straight into the area where I added the content farther back, the first time you visit the Medusakin Village. In the Desert Medusakin section, there is now an access hall to a "Sinister Area" where Alanna can encounter some rather darker activities. But, should she survive it, she'll get some good rewards: there is now also a treasure room right near the end of the Water Medusakin section where you will find gifts provided by some of the happier... "clients" in the village. ;)

https://mega.nz/file/CwdDiBBZ#mvRP_h92y ... fLsKfWNlds

I've also added the option to make the game more difficult than it already was, should you want that. Right from the beginning of a new game, Alanna begins with a Key Item "Hard Mode Switch" in her inventory; you can toggle HardMode on or off using it. Hardmode so far does very little in a walkabout situation, but makes battles more difficult. In some cases, only slightly, by buffing the monsters; in other cases, by giving the monsters extra skills or giving the player characters extra hindrances to contend with. I've implemented the modifications to battles from the beginning to the SandStone Prison, and after that, from the STIGSS (Goldmen Prison) onward. I'm working my way through the rest in my free time.

Hardmode will not give better rewards; it's just if you're the type, like me, that wants the fights to be more dangerous. So far, once you can get your hands on the Elemental Attack stones, pretty much any fight is an easy win regardless, so in the end HardMode is only really hard if you don't spam those.

Anyway, enjoy, folks. Let me know if you find any bugs, as always!

Question: Is it just me, or is there no way to progress through the first spider area? I've killed all the spiders, checked all the wall holes, checked all the victims, even the floor holes you normally can't interact with, and don't have a key for the next part...I'll keep looking, but I'm stumped at the moment.

Which version are you using?

There was an issue with 1.0.7 after I messed with those caves and how they screwed up the run/walk dynamic. In my copy-paste frenzy I omitted to correct some details and the result was that in one Ratite cave in the room before --- the far right one, as I recall --- you would get an extra Lesser Gauntlet Key if you approached while running. In a reverse of that, in the Spider room the far left cave was supposed to give you a Lesser Gauntlet Key, but wouldn't if you were "running" at the time. I was SURE I had corrected that by 1.0.8, though...

If you have a save from earlier --- the previous room, perhaps --- you should be able to get the key you need if you check out the leftmost spider cave while walking.

Unfortunately, while later versions have corrected this issue, there is no way to get the key anymore if you've saved after killing the spiders in that leftmost cave.

I've got 1.0.7b. It was the DL from the Mega link on the OP. You might want to update it. I'll check the 1.0.8 version from the tfgamessite. I'll have to restart from the beginning, I saved after clearing the room, and I only ever use a single save, unless there's choices to make that I feel might be interesting to see. By the way, I barely made it to the first healing spring, but after that, I've barely had to try to clear the rooms. You get pretty strong pretty fast. Not that I'm complaining too much xP

Crap, I'm sorry. I had indeed forgotten to update the direct link on the OP. Updated to 1.0.8.

And about the quick powerup; the Gauntlet is meant to be a prologue of sorts, to show how different Alanna is from the other women. So, yes, though the situation for them seems to worsen, the battles start to get much easier instead. That was actually intentional. :-D

Made it through the current content. Interesting game. One thing I noticed is that, after a fight you're scripted to lose, in the 'look around at some unfinished content' part, you heal a girl, and mention that during the fight you 'couldn't heal at all'. However, I was able to use the weakened healing spell no problem. Just a bit inconsistent. Either remove the weakened heal, or change the text. Pretty simple fix.

The Red Ratite was the hardest of the fights, just 'cause of it's health xD The Mino was just annoying...non-stop rape which drops your damage to, what, a third? The lore says to just take it, but when you're doing 15-20 damage a hit max because of the de-buff, I don't know if you can actually just sit there and do so. I struggled off every time to maximize damage, and STILL barely won. (got grabbed about 10 times...annoyed the heck out of me...lost once...Going through that cut scene again was rather unpleasant as well, it's long. Maybe ask if they want to save right before the fight? After picking up the sword right before the rush)

Anyway, I'll look forward to the updates.

The mention of a Healing spell is a precursor for what comes next. Her abilities were gone, but now seem to be coming back.

The Minotaur can be beaten 90% of the time by keeping Alanna "Brave" and constantly using Triple Strike, even if she's in his grasp. However, you received a Whip from the last battle with the Red Ratite. If she has THAT weapon equipped, she will make short work of the Minotaur using Whip Frenzy. :-D

Neat that you're updating here as well, even if you feel like there's a lacking interest.
I do think adding a proper changelog would be neat though. What's been added in the updates or changed, etc.
Also, what kinds of vore will be implemented and have been? Just says soft and hard vore, but I know you did Cock Vore for Tower of Change, so people might like to know if there's other types of vore than oral. Peak more interest that way.
Guess I'll give the game a try though. ToC was fun enough. Even if a different genre.

I'll be honest. This is pretty fun. Combat seems quite all right. Kind of wish it'd say special attacks missed instead of having no effect, as it made me assume my double strike couldn't hit big rats, after the first time I tried it told me no effect. Story is pretty cool, especially for a fetish porn game. I'll probably just keep playing just to see what's gonna happen and junk because of it, even if none of my personal kinks end up added.

Make sure you talk to the only SlaveGirl wandering at the surface, then go check the south gate. After talking to the Slaver there Alanna will know to check the fallen-down statue in the well for a hidden switch.

Whoops! Sorry about my earlier response; I misunderstood what you were telling me. During a full playthrough from scratch of version 1.1.2 though I finally saw what you meant; she already has the spell before the fight with Camdon! Sorry I'm so dense. Fixed for the release 1.1.3.

I have a few problems that became apparent with this version.

First, there need to be a way to skip dialogue, because after the second time the pre-boss dialogue was annoying.

Secondly, while the pain to pleasure mechanic is interesting and good on paper, it's terribly executed here as it is an arbitrary punishment of the player, low defense or stunlocked, neither are good choices and it doesn't reward players for smart choices, it just punishes. Maybe high sexiness has a chance of distracting an enemy, that makes a risk/reward situation rather than a bad situation with no good choices as it allows the player to have a character with high defense without them becoming useless.

Third, there needs to be a better indicator than dialogue that you need to break the fort door as the first time I interacted with it I just assumed that like the had taught me that I need to find a key and because I was under a time limit I skipped the dialogue. If there was a simple impact effect after the dialogue happened it would tell a rushing player to keep hitting the door and would make it feel like you're breaking the lock rather then standing at a door hammering a key.

(EDIT) Fourth, winning the fight against Beatrice is unsatisfying. You win and then because the main character is stupid you lose, not only that but the characters I wanted to spare and we know that Alanna can spare, are arbitrary killed, the character that I hate is given mercy, undeserved mercy, and that gets Alanna killed. Why does this happen? Because PLOT. What's more she doesn't learn her lesson, well, she almost does but she rejects it because too many people have died. Girl, the psychopath rejected mercy the first time. Don't give her it a second time.

Expanding on four, the some boss fights don't feel satisfying, I don't feel like I won. The Red Rat was just another hurdle, the Minotaur felt like an unwinnable boss fight before losing to it at which point it felt insulting, the Medusan was actually satisfying and Beatrice felt like winning was the worse result.
